Music, it's one of the many forms of art that contains creativity, connection, and culture — the three Cs. Even though I just made that up, it's still very true. Music does connect people. They're able to share their taste and passions through their choices in music. A person may love jazz while another can't get through a day without listening to metal. And after sharing their favorite songs, the person who loves jazz artists will start loving metal while the metal person will start getting into jazz — that's the beauty of music.

I was always a fan of classical music, I still am, but ever since my friend introduced me to J. Cole and Eminem, I'm now really into rap and classical music. Basically opposites, right? No one is supposed to be set to one genre when it comes to music. You can listen to rap and still love country.

If you're new to all of this, here's a few major hits in the music world that you should definitely get into. Get your hands on any of these albums every man should own, some of them are known to make you addicted.

Let's start off this great list of albums every man should own with the King of Pop's Thriller. Michael Jackson made chart-topping music every time he dropped something, but his album Thriller really impacted his fans drastically.

The album itself sold about 40 million copies, and people were going crazy over it. It features amazing hits such as “Babe Be Mine,” “Billie Jean,” “Beat It,” and the album’s title “Thriller.”

Bob Marley is easily one of the best artists of all time. His music constantly stands out and many people know his songs even if they’re not hardcore fans. But his album Legend features amazing songs like “No Woman No Cry,” “Is This Love,” and “Get Up Stand Up.” I guarantee after listening to one Bod Marley album, you’ll definitely get into more of his music.

You've certainly heard of David Bowie at some point in your life. Even after his death, people are praising him even more and starting to get into his music.

If you’re into rock and roll or want to slowly get into the iconic artist, then Bowie’s The Rise and Fall is a great choice among the best albums every man should own. The album features great tracks like “Starman,” “Ziggy Stardust,” “It Ain’t Easy,” “Star,” and more

One of the more classic and well-known albums by Kanye West is his cohesive debut College Dropout. Even today people are listening to songs from this fantastic album.

If you’re on the hunt for a good hip-hop album, Kanye's album is right up your alley. Tracks on the album are about the reality of everyday struggles and ambitions. Songs that are featured on the album are “Graduation Day,” “I’ll Fly Away,” “Spaceship,” and others.

Seen as a classic in the pop genre, Elvis Costello’s Imperial Bedroom is a great choice on this list of albums every man should own. The songs on the album are an extension of his jazz and pop infatuations from his other album Trust. While Costello’s music can come across as complicated, the rhythm flows smoothly and gets you hooked and singing along.

Tracks such as “Man out of Time,” “The Loved Ones,” “Human Hands,” “Beyond Belief,” and more make up the legendary album. Looking to get into Elvis Costello? Give this album a shot.

Marvin Gaye is known as an amazing artist in the R&B field of music. You know his most well-known song “Let’s Get It On?” Yup, this is him. If you love that song, then you’ll definitely love What’s Going On.

It has that same blend of bass lines, languorous grooves, and a touch of jazz. The three biggest hits on this album are “Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler),” “What’s Going On,” and “Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology).” Trust me, "Let's Get It On" isn't the only great song he's ever created.

Ah, Radiohead. One of the chillest bands that creates some of the best albums every man should own. Even though they're a rock band, not all of their music is hardcore. They're the type of band to kick back and listen to after a long day — or even while getting some work done. I personally love playing Radiohead while finishing up work.

But their album The Bends is truly remarkable and is a popular one among fans. Each song on this album sounds fresh and new to your ears. Thom Yorke’s lyrics really add the emotion of melancholy to the album all while sounding amazing. After listening to The Bends, you won’t be able to help yourself from digging deeper into what else Radiohead has to offer.

There’s a Bob Dylan song on almost everyone’s playlist, fan or not. But from the best albums every man should own, Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks is something you should definitely be listening to.

Many of the tracks on this album are pure poetry. Featuring emotional debris from a crumbled marriage, Dylan basically criticizes himself in his song “Idiot Wind.” There are also tracks such as “Simple Twist of Fate,” “Tangled Up in Blue,” "Meet Me in the Morning,” and others that you have to hear.

After having success with the release of their debut album Bleach, Nirvana dropped Nevermind, and the album stands as one of the most iconic albums every man should own. It's one of the five best rock albums of the 1990s.

Filled with reckless guitar, bass, and drum playing, Nirvana conjured up an album that is home to a few of their hottest tracks."In Bloom," "Smells Like Teen Spirit," "Breed," "Drain You," and other songs make Nevermind worth listening to. So, if you're more on the alternative side to music, Nirvana has you covered with great music to listen on the daily. Not to mention the baby on the cover was recreated recently and it's amazing.

In recent years, Kendrick Lamar has become one of the best rappers of all time with his poetic lyrics and amazing beats. His latest album DAMN. caused a frenzy with his fans and nearly everyone has something positive to say about it. So, it's not surprising that DAMN. is on this list of albums every man should own.

Lamar in this album isn’t afraid to speak his mind from “boxin’ demons” to “flex on stole,” he reveals that he’s humble enough to even relate his vulnerabilities. Beautifully written and very catchy, Lamar’s DAMN. is the type of album that is listened to in two ways: with a group of friends at a party or simply by yourself hearing what Lamar has to say.

Some of you have seen this image on either vinyls, t-shirts, and other places, it's the album cover for Dark Side of the Moon by the iconic Pink Floyd. The reason why the cover of the album is everywhere is because it's such an epic album. Pink Floyd has created multiple albums, but Dark Side of the Moon will always be one of the albums every man should own.

If you want to get into the rock genre or want to listen to more music from them, I highly recommend you dive right into Dark Side of the Moon. The album features atmospheric soundscapes and even intricate sound effects. Throughout the album, they mix neo-psychedelic art rock with jazz and blues.
