Music Rewind—Ft. New Kids on the Block

One thing that I have learnt in my time is that no matter where you are from or what your background is, one thing everyone can bond over is music, and that's the inspiration for my post today.

Today is a music rewind starring, New Kids on the Block!!

I think I was about 13/14 when I heard my first NKotB song and it was "Summertime" and I instantly fell in love with it. It was catchy, relaxing and fun—I didn't quite understand the full meaning behind the song at the time (I do now) but I used to play it in my room and sing along anyway.

Following on from Summertime, I started paying attention to the band and when they released "Single" featuring Ne-Yo—you best believe I listened to that on repeat.

I was a little older, and understood a lot more, but again it was so catchy and it was released during the era where every other song was produced by Polow Da Don (he was to 2009 what DJ Mustard was to 2014).

A little while later I was actually on a trip to NYC and I used to wake up and turn the TV on to MTV or VH1 and there was this one song that was being played all the time. So, one morning I decided to watch the music video all the way through to see who the artist was, and much to surprise it was...New Kids on the Block with their newest single "Remix (I Like The)."

Even though I was on another continent I instantly logged onto iTunes and downloaded the song and it became the soundtrack to my trip.

Its funny how this all happened a while ago but even today whenever I listen to anyone of these songs, its like a taking a time travelling Portkey or looking into a Pensieve at an old memory as I am instantly transported back to a time in my life where the song was the soundtrack.
