There is Love...

I need to talk about a woman that has touched my life deeply like no other human has ever done. Sometimes I get all teary eyed when I think of her of what she has done for me and others, including animals. Let me introduce to you Matia Brizman. Matia is a doctor, a singer, songwriter and animal rescuer. Matia plays a big role in my daily life. Listening to her music is a daily thing for me. I first learned about Matia about 15 years ago when my health started to fail. I was chronically ill, but with the care, help and incredible knowledge of Dr Matia Brizman I got better. She saved my life. Little did I know that she could sing. I found out years later. Not only can she sing, but she also writes her own songs and music and she plays instruments. Matia's song are outstanding. Her voice is so unique and incredibly beautiful. Her messages in her songs are so needed in this world. There is something in the lyrics and the music for everyone, including animals. My life has changed tremendously....Thank you Dr Matia Brizman, words can not express what you have given me, my children, my family, my friends, my animals. I am forever grateful.....

Influenced by the soul of Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Elton John and the sensitive storytelling of artists like James Taylor and Carole King, MATIA was captivated by music at the age of six. By 14 she was gigging on a professional level, appearing in such prestigious places such as the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.,. Then, serious illness led her down a different road and a long detour away from her music. Voiceless and challenged with a severe condition, Matia struggled for her life but grew stronger, deeper and wiser in the process.

After healing herself through education and hard work, and dedicating many years to educating and healing others, she has re emerged as a serious singer/songwriter, sharing her musical gifts with the help of veteran composer/guitarist/producer, Kenny Mazur, who played and recorded with such diverse artists as Robert Palmer ,Tina Turner., the O Jays and the Paul Winter Consort and has been composing for television for many years.

Blind, Matia's debut album, merged the heart of blues with the wordsmith ways of Country, and the soul of gospel in a purely American style. The result is an album that forges its own genre. Blind takes the listener on a musical excursion of colorful and connected sounds.

MATIA and Mazur launched their live band in the Summer of 2016, bringing the songs of Blind to the stage of Brittfest 2016. The following year, they appeared at Country Crossings while working on a second album back in LA . Her exciting second album, There Is Love has just been released and her band is now gigging throughout SOCAL at clubs like the House of Blues, the Peppermint and the Study.​
