The iconic Fibre is thrilled to launch its record label with an incredible EP by the talented artist ‘LS14‘ hailing from Leeds.

The standout track, ‘Chronic,’ incorporates sampled vocals from Angie Stone’s iconic song, ‘Wish I Didn’t Miss You,’ which holds a special place as one of the last tracks played at Space Ibiza by Carl Cox. Accompanied with infectious piano stabs and a hard bassline to match, ‘Chronic’ is set to move dancefloors this summer!

LS14 Delivers Latest EP

Set in celebration of their enduring success, this release sets forth a new chapter as they launch their imprint with a sound that clearly represents and amplifies the true Fibre experience. Set to showcase a myriad of breaking artists and names that align long term with the brand, this is an exciting step forward.

From the venue to countless pop ups and festival appearances the sound of Fibre is making a national impression upon the vibrant UK industry. This latest single represents the past, present and future of the imprint, opening up a broader audience so people that haven't been part of the brand to date, come up to speed and become part of their active, engaged and expanding family.

It’s been 22 years since Fibre first burst onto the Leeds scene back in 2000 and what an amazing journey it’s been! Reinventing itself through time, Fibre sits firmly as the cities’ hottest independently run hotspot. Regular refurbishments and upgrades made to the bar over 3 floors has kept Fibre at the forefront of Leeds’ bar scene.

Since first opening its doors the Leeds-based bar has been continual haven for the city’s LGBTQ+ community and their allies. The brainchild of business partners Terry George and Michael Rothwell, Fibre’s success has been down to the amazing performers, DJs, staff and customers that have made the bar their home from home.

Solidifying their history and impact on the local scene Fibre released a book to share their insights into the industry over the years. Alongside exclusive interviews with the team, Fibre: The Story So Far is filled with photographs which capture the heart of the ‘Home of House’ over the past two decades.

Additionally, the EP includes ‘House Music‘ featuring the mesmerizing vocals of Roland Clark.‘House Music’ really embodies its title featuring a classic organ bassline, high energy drums and old school vocals whilst simultaneously sounding fresh and contemporary.

Quoted on the release, LS14 states ‘LS14 represents more than music; it’s the northern energy, the rebellious soul of the dance floors that have given birth to underground scenes and sounds that have inspired generations and touched so many lives. The LS14 sound combines vocals, a killer bassline and high energy… a vibe that lets the listener ride the wave… a synonymous FIBRE sound!’

Co-Owner Michael Rothwell says: The concept of launching a record label centered around Fibre and its distinctive sound has always been a topic of discussion, but the timing never seemed quite right. Now, after an incredible 23 years and the launch of our book, we are finally ready to introduce Fibre to the rest of the world with our very own label, Fibre Records. Our mission is clear: to release dance floor filling tracks that embody the unique and captivating sound experienced week after week at Fibre.

‘Chronic’ will be available to buy and stream from all available digital and streaming platforms on the 4th of August and available to purchase exclusively on Traxsource from the 21st of July.
