Ice Spice and Lil Yachty Join Forces on Two-Part Single “Out My Face”
The new collaboration arrives with a surreal video that shifts from masked tableaus to a late-night diner scene

Ice Spice and Lil Yachty have teamed up for a new song, “Out My Face (My Baby),” accompanied by a visually playful music video directed by AMD and Yachty himself. Both the track and its visual presentation are divided into two distinct halves, giving the release the feeling of two connected scenes or even two different songs joined by a dramatic beat switch.
The first section of the video places Ice Spice in a series of lightly surreal tableaux. The rapper appears in front of a boardwalk face-in-the-hole display, surrounded by masks modeled after her own face, and briefly appears pregnant. The images are strange, colorful, and deliberately exaggerated, creating a dreamlike world that reflects the song’s unconventional structure.
The video’s opening act gives Ice Spice the entire spotlight. By surrounding her with multiple versions of her own face, the visual plays with ideas of identity, celebrity, and self-image. The masks transform her likeness into a kind of visual motif, suggesting both the ubiquity of her public persona and the way an artist’s image can take on a life of its own.
That surreal atmosphere changes once the beat switches. The video transitions into a diner scene, replacing the abstract imagery of the opening with a more social and grounded setting. Karrahboo makes a brief cameo, as do members of Yachty’s Concrete Boys collective. The change in location and tone mirrors the track’s musical shift, making the video feel structured around the same two-part arrangement as the song itself.
The diner sequence also emphasizes the collaborative nature of the release. While the first half is centered almost entirely on Ice Spice, the second brings more people into the frame and highlights Yachty’s creative circle. The cameos provide a glimpse into the community surrounding the rapper and his Concrete Boys imprint without distracting from the central collaboration.
“Out My Face (My Baby)” arrives during an active period for both artists, even though neither has released a new solo album recently. Ice Spice’s most recent album, Y2K!, came out in 2024. The project established a fuller snapshot of her sound while continuing the momentum created by her early breakout records and high-profile collaborations.
Since then, Ice Spice has remained visible through a pair of viral songs. “Big Guy,” her original contribution to The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, introduced her music to audiences beyond her core fan base. She also teamed up with Tokischa for “Thootie,” a duet that generated attention through its provocative energy and memorable presentation.
The new collaboration with Yachty gives Ice Spice another opportunity to work outside the expectations of a conventional album campaign. Its unusual video and two-part structure suggest a willingness to experiment with format while preserving the directness and personality that have shaped her rise.
Lil Yachty, meanwhile, has not released a full-length solo project since 2023’s Let’s Start Here. The album marked a major creative turn for the rapper, incorporating psychedelic rock, electronic textures, and expansive arrangements into a project that moved far beyond the straightforward trap and melodic rap of his earlier work.
Although Yachty has not followed Let’s Start Here. With another solo album, he has continued to collaborate. In 2024, he and James Blake released the joint album Bad Cameo, pairing Yachty’s adventurous instincts with Blake’s atmospheric production and songwriting. The project further established Yachty as an artist interested in unconventional structures and genre-crossing collaborations.
Earlier this summer, Yachty also worked with FKA twigs on the single “On Your Mind.” That release continued his recent pattern of connecting with artists from different creative worlds. His work with Ice Spice adds another dimension to that run, bringing together two rappers with distinct public identities and complementary approaches to performance.
The collaboration is notable because Ice Spice and Yachty occupy different but overlapping spaces in contemporary rap. Ice Spice’s music is often marked by concise flows, sharp delivery, and an immediately recognizable vocal presence. Yachty has built his reputation on melodic instincts, eccentric ideas, and a willingness to reshape his sound. “Out My Face (My Baby)” places those sensibilities in the same track while allowing the video to emphasize their contrast.
The split structure gives the release additional replay value. Listeners may be drawn in by the first half’s surreal imagery and then surprised by the beat change, while the diner sequence offers a more communal counterpoint. Instead of developing one visual idea from beginning to end, the video embraces interruption and transformation.
That approach feels especially appropriate for an era in which songs and music videos are often designed to create immediate moments of conversation. The masks, the face-in-the-hole board, the pregnancy image, the beat switch, and the diner cameos all provide distinct visual details for viewers to notice and discuss.
With “Out My Face (My Baby),” Ice Spice and Lil Yachty have created a collaboration that is deliberately divided but still cohesive. The first half places Ice Spice inside a strange world of duplicated images, while the second brings both artists into a lively diner setting surrounded by friends and collaborators.
The result is a release that balances individual star power with collective energy. It also leaves open the possibility that both artists may have more new music ahead. For now, the single offers fans a colorful, unpredictable meeting point between Ice Spice’s sharp presence and Yachty’s taste for experimentation.
