DIAMOND PLATNAMZ AND KOFFI OLOMIDE.

Antonine Christophe Agbepa Mumba, known professionally as Koffi Olomide is a Congolese Soukus singer, a dancer, a producer, and a songwriter. He is also known as Grand Mopao. He has had several successful music records in his musical career. He is the founder of the Quartier Latin International orchestra with many notable artists, including Fally Ipupa and Ferré Gola.

Koffi olomide teamed up with Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack popularly known by his stage name Diamond Platnumz for a special music collabo "Waah". Diamond platnamuz is a Tanzanian Bongo Flavor recording artist, a dancer, a philanthropist, and a businessman who is doing well in his musical career.

Their phenomenal collab was released on YouTube on Monday, November 30, 2020. This Bongo-flavored music video received a warm welcome on YouTube. This was seen through its great number of views on YouTube for a short period. Indeed, it is amongst the best performing music video on the African Continent.

The production of the “Waah” music video involved several parties which I can confidently say, they did their best. Some of the parties are;

• Koffi Olomide.

• Diamond Platnamz.

• Wasafi media.

• zoom Extra.

• Dancers.

The recognition and respect to Koffi Olomide by some parties on the “Waah” music video.

Koffi olomide on the music video is presented with respect and recognition. I am unable to state if this was intentional or accidental. Most of the parties involved in the music video showed respect and recognition to Koffi olomide. This can be seen in several scenes on the music video;

Recognition and respect by Diamond platnamuz.

Diamond Platnamz presented himself as a dancer to Koffi Olomide. There are several instances where Diamond Platnamuz offers himself as a dancer to Koffi Olomide. One instance is at 2 minutes 32 seconds on the music video. Diamond Platnamz presenting himself as a dancer to Koffi Olomide is a sign of respect.

The music video comprises fewer scenes where the two artists are together however, in this few, Diamond Platnamz is at some few centimeters behind Koffi Olomide. This can be seen at 4 minutes 14 seconds on the music video. Diamond Platnamz on the same scene he is at a lower ground than anyone. The act of him being behind Koffi Olomide show respect and recognition, also through that, one can say Diamond Platnamz is willing to offer no competition to Koffi Olomide.

When the two artists are sharing a scene in some instances one can see that much of Diamond Platnamz’s eye focus is on Koffi Olomide. One instance is at 3 minutes 1 second on the music video. This implies that Diamond Platnamz recognizes Koffi Olomide and he is willing to learn from him.

By production parties (Zoom Extra).

Video production involves a lot of parties. Zoom extra was one of the parties which took part in planning “Waah” music video scenes. Looking at most scenes where Koffi Olomide is captured there are fewer dancers around him. One can say it is less crowded. An example at 4 seconds on the “Waah” music video Koffi Olomide is alone. This signifies that Zoom Extra gave Koffi Olomide recognition thus they were presenting him as the main figure.

Zoom Extra planned the music video in such a way that the two artists shared fewer scenes. I can say that this was a way of reducing competition between the two artists. This act showed recognition and respect to both artists.

Koffi Olomide is given a good camera focus by Zoom Extra. The less crowded scenes of Koffi Olomide enabled him to have a nice camera focus. At 13 seconds on the music video the images of the ladies behind Koffi Olomide are made blurred (a symbol of recognition).

If one makes a comparison between Koffi Olomide’s dressing style and Diamond Platnamz’s dressing style on “Waah” music video, there is a big difference. I have tried to imagine why Koffi Olomide is given a “legendary” clothing style while Diamond Platnamz a “casual” clothing style. I can only associate my answer with recognition and respect given to Koffi Olomide by Zoom Extra

Earned recognition and respect.

Koffi Olomide and Diamond Platnamz recognize and respect one another. Koffi Olomide is given a role in the introduction of the “Waah” music video. Many expected Diamond Platnamz to take dominance in the introductiobecause he was the owner of the song.

Generally, many say respect and recognition are earned this is the case to Koffi Olomide. He proved this when he referred to Diamond Platnamz as “Legendary Dangote” at 4 seconds on the “Waah” music video. Koffi Olomide also has a lot of experience when compared to Diamond Platnamz's experience. All parties involved in the “Waah” Music video gave Koffi Olomide the appropriate recognition and respect.
