There is a spiritual meaning behind such.

You do not need to be a spiritual or awakened person to appreciate this trend; let alone be a Foo Fighters fan (not that yours truly is, in any sense of the word...moreover I like their music) - or even a fan of rock music for that matter.

This is something to ponder. Social Media platforms like TikTok need have no age limit among all of us, even though Everlong by the Foo Fighters seems to be tugging a different set of purse strings with Millennials and Gen Z in particular. This insight has also blossomed from an elderly millennial to boot. And writing this article on a Black Friday? Hmmm...no superstitions in my world.

Regardless as to what type of content hits you on your for you page or feed; this song is coming up (usually in five-minute chunks, making a lot of sense due to the duration of the song) when creators are playing a video game of some sort, or even broadcasting an NBA Basketball game to name. Another recent example is found by clicking here. Even that comment from Charles "134th Everlong" - from four days ago (as at the time of writing.)

The Foo Fighters are known to write and produce some impactful songs that hit the heart, and all of the senses with an archery bow. For example, in Learn To Fly (just digressing for a minute, to reach a valid point) when Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl sings "I'm looking to the sky to save me; looking for a sign of life..." it is all about travel being the need to escape, in order to vacate from normal senses in your routine world. That is why we all need a "vacation" every now and then; a holiday. Flying by aeroplane is the main form of transportation that the majority of us take to arrive at our holiday destination. This is where (quite literally) the sky is not the limit, and could be that bridge that could prevent burnout by (perhaps) taking a holiday at an opportune time, or on the back of travelling for some other life changing commitment and/or experience. That sign of life.

Skimming through the comments on YouTube, Everlong is an impactful song. Dave Grohl wrote this song in response to a divorce. It is like he divorced his soulmate, and he is wondering if he will ever be fortunate to find a second love like that one ever again. It is like nostalgia for the past, and wanting a brighter future, but still reminiscing about the past. No wonder why it is trending on socials. And RIP to Taylor Taylor Hawkins as well. I am sure that Josh Freese will be a great drummer for the Foo Fighters. On this, and hence why this article is so fitting in this ever constantly changing world, where we all feel overstimulated. And if you cannot vacate from that, then listening to music that is real and raw is another form of temporary escapism and nostalgia. #everlong on TikTok has 1.3 billion views in a short space of time.

Designed as a breakup song; people have played this when grieving over a loved one, whether it is a pet or follow human being. Interestingly enough, this song has also been played at weddings, in addition to Savage Garden's Truly Madly Deeply.

Every word truly slays in these lyrics.

It is like you found your best friend and lover rolled into one, and you are holding your breath. You do not want to let that go. You are holding on for dear life.

These lyrics do slap many in the face, but as a wake up call in a pleasant way: "If everything could ever be this real forever. If anything could ever be this good again." These words are relatable not only in love, but in life as a whole. For example, your career is changing. Or you had a good run financially, and it seems like you are moving into the next cycle, where you might have to penny pinch for a little while, before things become really great again. This song is like a promise to love yourself, and to really love the one that you are with. No wonder why this song is a hit on socials, from 2023. It is like a rebirth with great beats, all rolled into one. The tears are (personally) starting to stream down my face. And personally (while being so frickin vulnerable, thanks for this song, and for the Foo Fighters); my best friend wants more than a platonic relationship with me. He is just going through the process of divorce right now. Then we can progress to being a loving couple, which this song amplifies. This man came into my life as a friend 10-years ago, and we want more than a platonic friendship. Emotional central. In short, hearing this song through my content moderation work really hits hard. Such a timeless piece of music.

From a TikTok user: "Everlong is that one song I want to listen to before I d*e."

It really is an amazing song, and I say this as a huge Foo Fighters fan! It still shocks me to this day that Taylor Hawkins is no longer sitting behind the drum kit. Such a sad loss 😢
