Helpful Tools for Songwriters
Jon Heindel on helpful tools for songwriters.
The good news is that several tools are out there to help you in your songwriting journey. Here is a list of some of the best ones:
1.TuneCore
TuneCore is a comprehensive digital distribution platform for over 2 million songs. You can create your profile and upload your music in MP3 format. You don't have to worry about online storage, as they offer unlimited downloads with no adverts.
2. Pianosaurus:
This website allows you to enter up to 16 chords and instantly generates music for playback. You can also view the music being played on a virtual piano and download the chord structure and MIDI files. Pianosaurus is for those just starting to compose, perfect for beginners.
3. Soulseek:
This is a file-sharing system that allows you to access all the music on the internet. You can search through all the songs on your list and listen to them in MP3 format.
4. Songswap:
This website allows you to upload your music and receive feedback from other people who have composed music similar to yours. You can also search through a music library of over 160,000 songs.
5.StudiOtaku:
This website allows you to create your own customized video game soundtrack. It also provides you with audio loop creation and editing and the use of numerous FFT filters on your compositions.
6. Musicnotes:
This website allows you to upload your music in PDF format. Once you have uploaded your piece, you can get it printed and sold to music stores.
7. Grooveshark:
This website is a platform where users can create their playlists or find playlists made by other users. You can also listen to your favorite songs on the website or download them directly onto your computer.
8. Etune:
Etune is a free program that allows you to compose various audio and MIDI files for your game soundtrack and enter text for lyrics and dialogue.
There are many other helpful resources, but these are just a few of my favorite ones. The best thing about all these websites is that they allow you to create your music and upload it to the internet for free! It promotes your music and increases exposure, but it also helps you learn more about your composition skills.
