Halloween Music
You'll need more than the same old songs if you don't want to hear "Monster Mash" a dozen times
Not that there's anything wrong with "Monsters Mash", and it's definitely on my playlist, but you'll need to expand your definition of Halloween music unless you want to drive party guests crazy with the same few songs on repeat all night.
I'll get right to it. Here's a link to a shortened version of my Halloween playlist:
First, you'll see some classics that belong on any Halloween playlist, with those being:
Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters
Bobby "Boris" Pickett - Monster Mash
The Rocky Horror Picture Show - The Time Warp
Warren Zevon - Werewolves Of London
The Nightmare Before Christmas - This Is Halloween
Everyone knows these songs and I don't think anyone will disagree with having them on the list. Although I feel that "Pet Sematary" by The Ramones should be included with the classic Halloween songs, it doesn't seem to be as well known for some reason, but absolutely belongs in the playlist.
Next, there's a few TV/Movie themes:
The Addams Family Theme
Tales From The Crypt Theme
Beetlejuice Theme
Sometimes themes from movies and TV shows get overlooked when building a playlist but they're just as much a part of Halloween as any other songs.
The next few songs are covers by Leo Moracchioli:
This Is Halloween
Monster Mash
The Addams Family Theme
These songs, with his metal style, are certainly not for everyone, but they do add something new and different to the same old songs. Now might be a good time to mention that I always put my playlist on random so that you don't hear too much of the same music style all in a row.
Next up is Swollen Members. I can't say for certain because I don't know how popular these guys are in other countries, but if you're not from Canada you may never have heard of them. These are not traditional Halloween songs by any stretch, but they have a certain feel to them that makes them a perfect addition to the playlist. If you've never heard their music, check out one of their songs in the link below.

A few songs from In This Moment are next on the playlist. They have many more songs you could add, but I've narrowed it down for this particular list. Much like Swollen Members, their songs are more about the feel than actually being related to Halloween.
In This Moment - Black Wedding

Marilyn Manson's cover of "This Is Halloween" guarantees him a spot on my playlist, but I've also included other songs of his that easily fit in with a Halloween-type mood. If you're unlucky enough to have never heard his version of "This Is Halloween", I strongly suggest you check out the YouTube video below. I think his cover is better than the original.

Next are a few songs from Rob Zombie. He often looks like he's ready for Halloween, but more importantly many of his songs sound like they're ready for a Halloween playlist. Like many of the songs on my list, these might feel out of place depending on what kind of mood you're looking to create, and they're best when mixed in with other songs.
Last on my playlist are some songs that have that have that Halloween feel, especially when paired with other Halloween themed songs:
Alice Cooper - Feed My Frankenstein
Billie Eilish - Bury A Friend
Mourning Ritual - Bad Moon Rising
Matchbook Romance - Monsters
Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast
Some of the songs on my Halloween playlist might not be to everyone's taste, but when they're all combined together, they create an excellent Halloween party atmosphere. Once you stop limiting your Halloween playlist to songs that are specifically about Halloween, and instead look for songs that have more of a Halloween feel, you'll find more songs than you know what to do with. As I mentioned at the beginning, this is a shortened version of my Halloween playlist and I often have to add or remove songs based on how long I need the music to last. Check out more songs from some of the artists on my list, and make your own personalized Halloween Playlist!
