H.E.R. is the B.E.S.T.
Gabriella Wilson Established Herself As a Music Superstar
As of 2021, my favorite R&B artist is Gabriella Wilson, also known as H.E.R. As a guy who likes to wear dark sunglasses during all times of the day, I naturally gravitated towards her mysterious persona. As an artist, H.E.R. is inspirational because she has mastered her craft, and she makes sure the focus is on her music. She is a breath of fresh air in the music industry. At 23 years, H.E.R. has already left her mark. She has done everything from winning top music awards to creating powerful songs on the Black Lives Matter movement. Wilson's love for music should be a source of inspiration for all of her fans; she pursued her wildest dreams and succeeded.
First Song
The first H.E.R song I ever heard was a collaboration with Daniel Caesar - Best Part. It's a great love song! Thanks to the Shazam app, I seized the opportunity to capture the song's details. The rest is history. I listened to the song on repeat and even watched their live performance. I love the song's imagery (You're my sunshine in the rain when it's pouring). My favorite lyrics from Best Part are, "If life is a movie, then you're the best part."
Las Vegas Concert
Best of all, I saw H.E.R. perform live at the House of Blues in Las Vegas (December 2018). I had her entire discography on repeat before the big day. H.E.R. impressed me with her vocals and her effortless master of instruments (piano and guitar). The concert added an exclamation point to my Vegas trip. I also enjoyed the performances by the opening acts, which included Bri Steves. Afterward, I felt more inspired to invest in my personal and professional pursuits.
Sample Essay Outline
Last summer, I taught English at a local community college. The goal of my course is to help students write persuasive, well-structured essays. As an instructor, I did my best to provide engaging examples to encourage them. H.E.R. is the inspiration for my sample essay outline; It is below:

Fictional Artist
I recently drew inspiration from Wilson’s artistic persona (H.E.R.) and the student loan crisis to create a fictional artist. My blog entry is below:
Say hello to H.I.M. He is an R&B singer who deals with heartbreak and empty pockets on a daily basis. No, he's not a scorned lover. And he is not divorced. He has countless years of education and an insane amount of student loan debt.
H.I.M. is a light-hearted play on H.E.R. (a two-time Grammy award winner). H.I.M. stands for "Having Interest Monthly." It's a nod to America's student loan crisis. There are more than 44 million borrowers in the U.S.
The first single released by H.I.M. is inspired by "I Won't" from H.E.R. VOL. 2
Original Lyrics, "I Won't" (H.E.R. VOL. 2)
- You can't make me love you if I don't
- You can't make me love you if I won't
- You can't change my heart, you're trying too hard
- You can't make me love you, no I won't
Remix (H.I.M.)
- You can't make me pay you if I don't
- You can't make me pay you if I'm broke
- You can't charge my card, I'm living with mom
- You can't make me pay you cause I'm broke
