With past legendary groups like RUN-DMC, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Dip Set, the Lox, and Migos to name a few, Black $oprano Family (B$F) seeks to emerge from the womb of hip hop as the greatest to ever do it.

Commandant Benny the Butcher is putting his team on his back and carrying them from obscurity to rap heavyweights. Their pens are sharp and their focus is relentless. Their hunger to be the best among the other groups is what drives them.

Their collective effort Long Live DJ Shay (2022) could position them as the formidable rhymespitters to land on the stage. It is a salute to the fallen warrior in the music field that aided in their success. Their gritty rhymes matched with luxury rap is nothing new. The late Notorious B.I.G., the GOAT JAY-Z, and Pusha-T have all established cocaine chic raps.

What sets this group apart is the fact they are out of the crack era. Not since the 1990’s has crack cocaine been the drug dejure. Yet, they speak on their hustles like narco philosophers spouting wisdom into the ether. The drug that transformed so many lives for the worst still allowed others out of the hustle to flourish.

There’s a sense of urgency in their rhyme while also being composed and direct with their words. But can B$F really claim the trophy for taking their efforts to new levels?

Much like R&B bands, few rap groups have stepped onto the scene other than City Girls and only a handful of others. But B$F remain wordsmiths matched with rugged beats and slick production at the same time.

These rappers know they can keep up the ideal of a collective of individuals who want to outrap the other. That's the nature of the game. You’re supposed to outrap, outdress, out produce, and out purchase your fellow rappers in the struggle.

In an era where so many are vying for fame and fortune in the industry, they appear to not be rapping just for the dollars but to display their superior skills. To take the mantle of best group means that they take their rhymes as if they’re commodities on the market. They have enlisted producers like the pioneer DJ Premier on their product. Soul samples appear on the playlist which adds a bit of nostalgia in songs like “Li-Lo.” This shows that they are allowing the younger generation to be introduced to the architects of the culture. The power behind their words married with the production showcases their robust rhyming abilities over tracks.

Once they show and prove that they’re ready to become a formidable force on the rap scene, they will plot to stay a tight nucleus. Whatever the case, not all groups last long.

A humongous question mark hangs over the group. Will they be the champions of the rap world? What will they advance about the entirety of the game? Will Benny be the leader to organize the rest of the rappers to be on their best square?

Apparently, they are all prepared to stand up and outdo the meager competition. Their strong bars and revelatory techniques on the microphone only advance their score as the team to beat. They just might create a dynasty built on hard rhymes.

As they wade through the swamp of rap music, they’re armed with the sense that their knowledge and wisdom can permit them to be that foundation for Generations Y and Z. Once Generation Alpha catches up and gets a listen to the Black $oprano Family, they too will experience the excellence of real rap.
