The albums of Bon Jovi

A sensational American rock band from the U.S. state of New Jersey Bon Jovi came together in 1983. The band consists of Jon Bon Jovi lead singer, Richie Sambora guitarist, David Bryan guitarist, and drummer Tico Torres. They became world famous after coming out with their third album Slippery When Wet in 1986 and in 1988 with their fourth album New Jersey. The band went on their New Jersey Tour in 1990 during which time Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Samborga also released successful solo albums.

Altogether the band has released 15 studio albums, 3 live albums, 5 compilation albums, 5 Eps, 66 singles, 14 video albums, and 71 music videos. Bon Jovi has sold more than 100 million albums all over the globe and has performed over 2,700 concerts in more than 50 countries. They were inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006 and were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009.

Bon Jovi came out with their first self-titled album in 1984 and had a successful single with “Runaway”. Another popular song on this album was “Shot Through the Heart”. This is their only album that includes a song “She Don't Know Me” that was not written or co-written by a member of the band.

Their second album 7800 Fahrenheit came out in 1985. This album's artwork introduced the class 1980s Bon Jovi logo which would later be used on their next two albums Slippery When Wet and New Jersey. The RIAA certified the album Platinum in 1987. Both singles “Only Lonely” and “In and Out of Love” charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Their third album Slippery When Wet rose up to number one on the charts and stayed there for eight weeks. From it came two number one hit singles “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Livin’ on a Prayer” which won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Stage Performance. This album is Bon Jovi's best-selling album to date and has an RIAA certification of 12 x Platinum making it among the Top 100 best-selling albums in the US.

More hit singles came from their fourth album New Jersey which was a hard rock album. The songs were “Bad Medicine”, “I’ll Be There for You”, “Born to Be My Baby”, “Lay Your Hands on Me” and “Living in Sin”. The album was certified 7 x Platinum by the RIAA. It was the band's first number one album in the UK.

Their fifth album Keep the Faith went Double Platinum and included the popular hits the title track, “Bed of Roses”, and “In These Arms”.

These Days their sixth album was released in 1995. It was the first album recorded after the dismissal of bass guitarist Alec John Such and features bass guitarist Hugh McDonald. It is a darker kind of album in contrast to their usual mix of rock songs and love ballads. Singles from this album include the title track, “This Ain't a Love Song”, “Something for the Pain”, “Lie to Me”, and “Hey God”.

Five years later in 2000 their seventh album Crush was released. The album has the very successful hit single “It's My Life”. Other singles released were “Thank You for Loving Me” and “Save the World”. The RIAA certifies the album Double Platinum.

Bounce their eighth album came out in 2002 and was greatly influenced by the September 11 attacks, partly to Jon Bon Jovi's proximity to NYC. The singles released from this album were the title track, “Everyday”, “Misunderstood”, “All About Lovin' You”, and “The Distance”.

Their ninth album Have a Nice Day came out in 2005. The album included the singles the title track and “Who Says You Can't Go Home”. The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA.

Lost Highway their tenth album came out in 2007. Due to their success with the country song “Who Say's You Can't Go Home” from their previous album the song went to number one on the US Country chart when sung as a duet with Jennifer Nettles. Two songs on the album were produced in collaboration with other artists - “We Got It Going On” with Big & Rich and “Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore” with LeAnn Rimes. Singles from the album are “(You Want to) Make a Memory”, “Summertime”, “Lost Highway”, “Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore”, and “Whole Lot of Leavin'”. This was Bon Jovi's first album in the country music genre.

In 2009 the band went back to the hard rock sound with their eleventh album The Circle. The singles released were “We Weren't Born to Follow”, “Superman Tonight”, and “When We Were Beautiful”.

What About Now the band's twelfth album came out in 2013. It went to number one and became Bon Jovi's third album in a row to hit number one in the US after The Circle and Lost Highway albums. It is the last album to feature lead guitarist Richie Sambora before departing from the band the following month, The single released is “Because We Can”.

In 2015 they came out with Burning Bridges with the singles “We Don’t Run” and “Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning”.

Finally, This House is Not for Sale in 2016 with the title track released as a single.

Bon Jovi keeps on recording and performing.
