1. "Saturday" | Max Jackson

Newcastle Based Singer-Songwriter Max Jackson (Collage Art: Talya Jacobson)

It's an absolute pleasure to announce that one of my own personal favourite people Max Jackson has released a single out into the world, and let me tell you it's just as wonderful, bubbly, and happy as she is.

"Saturday" was released just last week alongside an amazing artsy music video that was created, produced and directed by Max herself, along with her fiancé.

This song is uplifting and magical with glittery tones and soothing vocals which is sure to put a smile on your face. The chorus is especially catchy and I'll surely be singing it all Saturday long!

2. "Calling Out My Name" | Elaskia

Aussie Songstress Elaskia (Credit: Elaskia Music)

Raw emotion and power strikes this young Australian singer, bringing something to the global music scene that has not often been heard before.

"Calling Out My Name" brings smooth gorgeous vocals intertwine with soft electronic pop beats; a different yet extremely effective and beautiful sound.

This young artist has already seen huge success in her career, opening for Vera Blue and sharing the stage with the likes of Peking Duck, Gang of Youths and Ocean Alley.

The song even featured on the American hit TV show and Netflix series Dynasty, which I think is pretty damn cool.

We should be seeing a lot more of this one!

3. "Sick" | CXLOE

This indie pop singer-songwriter is one to watch out for, with her recently released track "Sick" featuring rap artist gnash, and let me tell you it is one groovy tune.

Lyrically, the song shows that CXLOE's experiences are way beyond her years.

I don't want the candlelightGive me something late at nightLove that's shiny that's a lie what I really like

CXLOE has gained quite the following on social media, including over 600,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Other recent hits include "Low Blow" and "Show You," and with millions of streams and having opened for Maroon 5 on their Australian tour as well as having supported the likes of Alison Wonderland and Conrad Sewell, who knows what is next for this superstar.

CXLOE will be playing at the 2019/20 Falls Festival; will you be there?

4. "Move!" | NIKI

Indonesian Singer-Songwriter and Producer NIKI (Credit: NIKI Music)

This cool, quirky singer is taking the Indonesian and global pop world by storm. Her powerful vocals and catchy beats are sure to keep you dancing all weekend.

"Move!" is a super groovy fun tune which was released on her wanna take this downtown? EP this year.

With over two million monthly listeners on Spotify, this 20-year-old producer and singer-songwriter is making absolute washout waves.

Thanks to Friday's Five at 5 reader Dan for the request! She's a new personal favourite of mine.

5. "Circles" | George Alice

Triple J's Unearthed High 2019 Winner George Alice (Credit: George Alice)

It's safe to say that this 16-year-old has had her dreams come true this week when she was surprised at her school photo day and announced the winner of Triple J's Unearthed High 2019 competition. Since then, the young singer-songwriter has gone viral with her song "Circles."

The Adelaide singer boasts catchy pop hooks in this track which according to George Alice is about “being really lost and confused about how you’re feeling with friendships and relationships."

“I used to be a country singer,” she said.

“I would go busking in Tamworth, at the Country Music Festival.”

This beautifully composed song is catchy, new and exciting, with George's vocals sounding like G Flip and Alessia Cara's voices had a baby; and it's magnificent.

It actually feels like I've been listening to her voice for years, showing how much she really does fit in to today's music world.

That's all from me, I hope you've enjoyed this week's Friday's Five at 5! PLEASE read and share to your heart's content as it helps me a LOT, and more importantly LISTEN TO THE ARTISTS!
