Many rock artists from the late 90's - early 2000's are making their way back into the world with new songs, covers, and tours. For some reason, I have yet to uncover, many of the famous musicians from the early 2000's fell of the grid until the past two or three years when many of them have once again taken to the stage.

Here are 5 Rock Bands who are making a comeback.

1. Volbeat

Volbeat is a rock band formed in 2001 from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band was signed by Dutch Label Mascot Records. They released four albums within the span of five years starting in 2005. Volbeat took a three-year break before releasing their fifth album, ‘Outlaw gentlemen & and Shady Lady’s’ in 2013. They waited another three years before once again creating new masterpieces in 2016. Since then they have released two more albums.

2. Evanescence

Evanescence was formed in Little Rock, Arkansas by Lead singer and pianist Amy Lee and Guitarist Ben Moody. They released their first album, ‘Fallen,’ in 2003 with Wind-up Records. The band managed to earn two Grammy Awards after selling 17 million copies of the album. Through several changes in the band lineup they managed to produce two more albums by 2006 including their live album, ‘Anywhere But Home.’ The band took a five year break before coming back with their self-titled album in 2011. The band disappeared for another five years before releasing the album, ‘Lost Whispers.’ Evanescence took on a different kind of project and released an orchestrated album, ‘Synthesis’, with a new take on their best songs from their previous albums in 2017 and a live version in 2018. Though there has been no new music released of late Evanescence continues to tour worldwide and there is rumor of a possible new album soon.

3. Halestorm

Halestorm is a rock band formed by Lead Vocalist Lzzy Hale and her brother, Arejay Hale, who plays drums. Guitarist Joe Hottinger and bassist Josh Smith later joined the band. Halestorm is from Red Lion, Pennsylvania and released their self-titled debut album in 2009 after signing with Atlantic records. After taking some time they released their second album, ‘the Strange Case of…’, in 2012. Their song ‘Love Bites (So Do I)’ earned them a Grammy Award in 2013. After this they took another brief break before releasing their next two albums in 2015 and 2018.

4. Bink-182

Blink-182 was formed in Poway, California in 1992. After a line up change the band now consists of Mark hoppus on bass/vocals, Travis Barker on Drums, and Matt Skiba on Guitar/Vocals. Their first album, ‘Cheshire Cat’, was released in 1994. They produced six more albums between the years 1997 and 2003 before taking an eight year hiatus coming back into the light in 2011 with the album, ‘Neighborhoods.’ They took another shorter break coming back in 2016 when they released three more albums between then and 2019.

5. Slipknot

Slipknot is a heavy metal band from Des Moines, Iowa that consists of nine members. The band was founded in 1995 by Shawn Crahan, Joey Jordison, and Paul Gray. They released their debut self-titled album in 1999. Slipknot grew to fame as they continued to steadily release albums until 2009 when they suddenly stopped releasing new works. Slipknot came back in 2014 with the album, ‘.5: The Grey Chapter,’ before taking another three-year break. They recently released their sixth album, ‘We Are Not Your Kind’, in August of last year.
