Eric Reinhart Looks Back With Gratitude on New Single “Over and Over”

Eric Reinhart’s latest single, “Over and Over,” looks backward without getting stuck in the past. Following his debut release “Chances” and the confident “Keep It Simple,” the new song turns memories into a celebration of the people, places, and experiences that have helped shape Reinhart’s life.

The idea emerged during a studio session with Reinhart, his longtime friend JT, and producer Justin Gray. A casual discussion about nostalgia quickly became the starting point for a song about the moments people wish they could experience again.

“We got talking about how there are certain things in life you just want to do over and over again because they’re such great memories,” Eric shares. “That conversation sparked the idea, and we just started writing from there.”

Rather than focusing on choices that might have been different, Reinhart approaches the past with appreciation. The song recognizes that a life is made up of countless experiences, including the difficult ones, and that each can leave something behind. Friendships, shared experiences, mistakes, and milestones all become part of the story a person carries forward.

“There are so many versions of this life I could be living,” Eric says. “There are things I didn’t do perfectly along the way. But I’d go on every version of this ride because those experiences made me who I am. I’m genuinely content with who I am, even knowing there are parts of me that still need work. I’m here today because of everything I’ve been through, and I wouldn't trade that.”

The production gives that perspective an expansive musical setting. “Over and Over” begins with an accessible pop sensibility, creating an easy momentum before the arrangement takes a dramatic turn. The bridge introduces a stronger rock influence and the scale of a power ballad, providing the song with a noticeable emotional peak.

“The bridge really takes you somewhere else,” Eric says. "There's this slightly rock, power ballad energy to it that lifts the whole song into a different place. That shift is something I’m really proud of."

The writing process mirrored the personal nature of the subject. Instead of arriving with a fully formed song, Reinhart brought memories and stories into the room, allowing the material to develop through conversation and collaboration.

“I came in and started sharing memories, experiences, things I’d been through,” Eric recalls. “JT just started writing. He penned a lot of the lyrics, pulling from the stories we were all sharing. It was a really natural, organic process, and I think you can feel that in the song.”

That collaborative approach is representative of what Reinhart hopes his music can provide. His growing catalogue explores subjects including friendship, family, hope, purpose, and the importance of having people around you when life becomes difficult.

“Life can get tough,” Eric says. “Sometimes you just need a little lift. I want my music to do that for people.”

Reinhart’s connection to music began early. He spent his childhood traveling with his parents’ band, living on the road and performing from a young age. Those experiences gave him an early understanding of the relationship between a performer and an audience while shaping his interest in storytelling.

Today, that foundation informs a live show built around interaction and connection. Reinhart has performed more than 350 times across North America, including a performance before 50,000 people at Commonwealth Stadium. His shows combine music with visuals and immersive production, reflecting his belief that a performance can create a shared experience rather than simply deliver a set of songs.

His creative life also extends beyond music. Reinhart became a Canadian Junior Parkour Champion before entering the professional division at 16 and later establishing a parkour business. The discipline required in that world has carried into his approach to performing and songwriting.
