This is my first movie review. I am going to review Do Revenge on Netflix. What made me want to do a review on this movie was the music they used, the story and twist, and the friendship between the two main characters.

I am going to talk about the music first. I love that they used three young female artists' songs in the movie. They are Olivia Rodrigo, Tate McRae, and Billie Eilish. I will discuss the scene the songs are in later. I am glad the filmmakers decided to highlight these three artists. Music can enhance a scene and these three definitely did.

I like that they took the concept of revenge and made it into a great story. The twist is something I didn't see coming and I am glad I didn't. I will talk more about this later.

The friendship between the two main characters is something special. Revenge brought them together, but a true friendship kept them together.

Spoiler alert. I am going to be talking about important scenes in the movie. There will be a lot of spoilers.

The first thing we see is that they are going to go by seasons. I like this because it shows the viewer how quickly things can change. We start in Spring.

The opening scene is a party. We learn that Drea, one of our main characters, is not rich and one of her friends paid for her birthday party. Drea shows she is smart in the way she takes people down. In this first scene she takes down a girl named Allegra by telling everyone she is donating her entire wardrobe.

The problems start when Drea's boyfriend asks her to make and send him a sexy video. Someone spreads the video around school. She is so angry she ends up hitting her boyfriend in the face which is a problem because he is the golden boy of the school.

They go on Summer break. Her friends are pulling away from her because they are on the boyfriend's side. She decides she needs to channel her anger. As she is deciding this, Brutal by Olivia Rodrigo starts to play. As Brutal continues to play we are introduced to the other main character Eleanor. The first meeting of Eleanor and Drea is when Eleanor is telling Drea who leaked the video. Their first real talk is when Eleanor takes Drea home.

Eleanor tells a story of when she was 13 and at Day Camp. She was accused of holding down a girl and kissing them. That rumor turned her into a predator. Eleanor is now going to the school where this girl is a student.

Fall. the start of senior year.

Eleanor meets Gabby on her first day. Gabby gives her a tour. Drea walks up to her former friends and her ex. She finds out her ex best friend is dating her ex-boyfriend. The line from Eleanor “feeling alone is a specific type of pain with distinct recognizable signs to the trained eye” This is why they will become friends.

At the first school assembly Eleanor runs into the girl that ruined her. Dreas ex is twisted. He starts a club to help men learn how to treat women better. Drea runs to the bathroom and Eleanor follows her. This is where they come up with their plan. They want to do each other's revenge. Drea gives Eleanor a makeover so that she can get in with her former friends.

Eleanor's revenge is easy for Drea. Drea does her community service at the school's farm which is run by Clarissa, the girl who wronged Eleanor. Men are harder to take down. Max Drea's ex is extremely hard to take down. Everybody loves him. They want to expose him as a hypocrite.

A very important line that Drea says is “Narcissists are too busy thinking about themselves to realize they are being played” they are talking about Max. Clarissa is cooking the senior dinner. She also has a greenhouse that is locked.

At a party Eleanor learns a few things. One is that Gabby is Max’s sister. The other is that Max is cheating but she doesn't have time to take screenshots.

Drea steals Clarissa’s keys and they go into the green house and find a lot of drugs. Their plan is to put the drugs into the dinner Clarissa is cooking and while everyone is high Eleanor is going to get screenshots of the text on Max’s phone.

Winter. It is the night of the dinner, and everyone is going crazy. The headmaster shows up and inspects the food and then goes to the green house and finds the drugs. One down and one to go.

They go back to Drea’s house after the dinner. Her house is cozy. She was afraid of her former friends finding out about where she lives. They look at the text and realize that Max is cheating with a lot of girls that goes back years. They are planning on releasing them on Valentine's Day. As they are lying in bed Eleanor tells Drea “You don’t have to be brave with me”. Drea says “there is this knot in my chest the Max stuff made it worse, but it has always been there and every day I feel it getting tighter and stronger and I feel like it is choking me. Sometimes it just hurts to exist, you know.” Drea says to Eleanor “You are just like me.” This is an important scene. It shows how close they have become and that they really care for each other.

Max does a magazine interview to tell his side of the story. When Drea learns this, she runs out and bumps into Russ. She works with him at the farm. They go have a fun day ending with them throwing paint balloons at a white canvas. This is when they have their first kiss.

On Valentine's Day they release the text messages. Of course, Max spins it and says they are Poly. Drea gets called into the headmaster's office and is told Yale has rejected her application. Now that there is no Yale, she has nothing to lose. She wants to go after all of her former friends.

Eleanor hangs out with Gabby on her birthday. This is when they kiss for the first time. When Eleanor gets home, she is surprised with a birthday party. Drea sees it on her feed and shows up. She confronts Eleanor and Gabby hears the conversation. Drea says that Max leaked the video and Eleanor says are you sure there has been no evidence. This is the part that Gabby overhears. At the end of the conversation, She's all I Wanna be by Tate McRae starts to play. Gabby is upset because she knows her brother leaked the video. She tells Eleanor that she isn’t wearing armor anymore, it is just you now.

As Drea gets in her car to leave it will not start. She calls the repair shop and learns that last time someone had removed the spark plug. This is when she suspects that Eleanor did it. To confirm this, she goes and sees Clarissa in rehab.

Drea finds out that Clarissa was Eleanor’s first girlfriend and that she (Drea) was the one that started the rumor. When Drea gets home Eleanor is waiting on her. Eleanor is in charge now. Her plan is for Drea to go to the admissions party and record all the crazy stuff and post it and it will trace back to Drea. If Drea doesn't do it Eleanor has threatened Drea’s mom.

Drea thinks that Eleanor has told Russ what she did to Clarissa, so she tells him and then Eleanor hits Drea’s car and puts her in the Hospital. Russ is there when she wakes up. He wants her to turn herself in. He is also mad because she didn’t think about the collateral damage to the girls in the text messages.

Eleanor shows up at the Hospital. She hit Drea’s car so she would get invited to the party. Billie Eilish Happier than Ever plays. Tara, her ex best friend invites her to the party after they have a good talk.

Spring. The night of the party Drea tells everyone that Eleanor likes Gabby and that Eleanor used to go by Nora and went to camp with her and Clarissa. Eleanor runs out and Drea follows her. They both admit they feel like shit and Drea destroyed her camera. They don’t want to hurt each other anymore. Drea admits that the only time she was happy was when she was with Eleanor. Drea admits that Eleanor is the only real friend she has ever had.

At this point Max shows up and has learned everything they have done. He admits he leaked the video and that he is going to do coke. Eleanor starts laughing when he leaves because she had a camera on her. They hug and say they are ok.

They play the video at the party and his friends turn on him.

The headmaster offers to try and get Drea into Yale. She says no.

The movie ends with them driving away listening to Bitch by Meredith Brooks.

In the credits there are clips of them apologizing to Russ and Gabby and them getting back together. The very last scene is Max in a support group.

I love this movie. From the music to the friendship and the twist. This is an amazing movie. The actors are great, and the headmaster was played by Sarah Michele Gellar.
