With all the Caucasian Former Disney stars making it Big in the music industry like Hilary Duff, Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers,Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Britney Spears and Olivia Rodrigo. But how come with all the success they have receiving and when Disney black music stars tried they somehow flopped or never got the chance to receive the major success.

Here's a list of Disney Black Music Stars that have been mistreated in the music industry.....

In this list, I am excluding Gabi Wilson aka H.E.R. because she had already succeed in her career as an musical artist and she wasn’t a Disney Star but was Radio Disney's N.B.T., Tiffany Evans, and B5 even though they did some Disney songs but were never actually Disney stars. These are only Black Disney Stars who have starred in Disney shows and television films who have shared their vocal talent but could've been big in the music industry.

(If you would like to look at my story on Gabi Wilson👇👇👇👇👇)

Keke Palmer

Keke Palmer

Before she was on Nickelodeon's True Jackson VP, Keke was almost close to being a Disney star. After Akeelah and the Bee, she starred in a unsold sitcom called Keke & Jamal that never got a chance to air on Disney Channel where she played as KeKe and her brother Jamal (played by Andre Jamal Kinney) along with Vanessa Anne Hudgens, this time as the mean girl on the show. She would star in Jump In! alongside HSM star Corbin Bleu. Palmer debut two singles "Jumpin'" and "It's My Turn Now" for the Jump In! soundtrack.

Palmer signed with Atlantic Records and released her debut album So Uncool in 2007. The album received good reviews but didn't make much success. In 2009, Palmer left Atlantic and signed with Interscope Records.

So Uncool (2007)

She hasn't released any albums from Interscope since she was signed. So far, she released EPs, some singles, and some film soundtracks.

Speaking of Corbin Bleu.....

Corbin Bleu

After the success of High School Musical, Bleu has ventured in his music career this time not with the cast of High School Musical. He has signed to Hollywood Records and debuts his single "Push It to the Limit" for the Jump In! film soundtrack.

The song would also appear on his debut album Another Side which would be released in 2007.

Another Side (2007)

Fun Fact: The song "Deal with It" was originally written and sung by Jay Sean.

Jay Sean

He performed the song at the High School Musical concert, skating rinks, and parades.

Speed of Light (2009)

He would release his second album Speed of Light with Hollywood in 2009. But it would be the last album with Hollywood Records. Bleu has been sticking to performing on Broadway, singing Broadway music, and acting. No word on Bleu working on his next album.

Kyla Pratt

Kyla Pratt

Kyla Pratt has made her voice as Penny Proud on Disney’s The Proud Family and now Disney Plus. She actually lent her singing voice on the episode of the Proud Family where Penny and her friends form a girl group then later went solo using her stage name “Penne”.

She also sang with her fellow Disney stars twice. But never got a chance to release an album not even an EP. So far, Pratt has been focusing on her acting career, mom life, and is voicing on the Proud Family reboot.

Raven Symone

Since the ending of the Cosby show, Raven has tried to venture as a young musical artist in the 90s. She had released her debut album Here's to New Dreams at age 5 but didn’t make that much success.

Fun Fact: Symone played as Charisse Dolittle, older sister of Maya Dolittle(played by Kyla Pratt) and her father (played by Eddie Murphy)

When she was in her teens, she released her second album but have received negative reviews and didn’t topped the charts. While Raven was working on her show That’s so Raven she was signed to Hollywood Records. She lent her voice on two That’s So Raven soundtracks and Disney maina soundtracks. Her third album with Hollywood Records This is my Time in 2004. At the peak of her final season of her show, Symone released her final album with Hollywood Records. It was well received and made number on the charts.

Tia & Tamera Mowry

Tia and Tamera Mowry started off joining a girl group called Voices. They made a song called "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah” and that song made number 72 in the charts. The two sisters would met with a producer spotted them on the set of Full House where their youngest brother Tahj was doing an episode on the show and created their sitcom show Sister Sister until it was picked up and moved to Disney Channel making them Disney stars. While they were on the show, they have lent singing voices on the show. After the end of Sister, Sister, the Mowry went off to pursue their education at Pepperdine University. Tia and Tamera have sang covers on YouTube but yet no one signed a record deal but the twins have been more focused on their careers and their family life.

However, Tamera lent her voice on the Masked Singer as the Seashell.

Tahj Mowry

Brother of Sister, Sister Tia and Tamera Mowry and star of Smart Guy and voice of Wade in Kim Possible. While he was working on the show, Tahj sang with the stars of Disney singing “Circle of Life”

So far, he has sang covers on his YouTube and released his single “Flirt” in 2015.

Orlando Brown

Orlando Brown started off a innocent child actor acting in films and tv shows before he starred Disney Channels That’s So Raven. While he was working on That’s so Raven, Brown started working on his music as well. He has lent his singing and rap skills on the That’s So Raven soundtrack including his cover to Billy Preston “Will It Go Round in Circles”.

The song would also appear on Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior.

He released his debut album which no one talks about and wasn’t properly promoted.

After his time on Disney, Brown had run ins with the law, dealing with drugs, bragging about his relationship with fellow co-star Raven Symone and was homeless. Luckily, he has changed and still working on music on his own music label. If you would like to listen or watch his videos go on his YouTube channel right here.

Roshon Fegan

Roshon Feagan

Born from a Filipino mother and an African American father who is also an actor. Roshon Fegan started off his Disney debut on Disney Channel original film Camp Rock. He would show off his rap skills on YouTube and duo YouTube channel with fellow Disney star and friend Cody Linely called the Ro and Co show.

Fegan would starred in Camp Rock 2 and tv show Shake it Up alongside Zendaya and Bella Throne. Fegan is still acting and independently working on his music. Roshon works in duo group EVO INVASION.

Coco Jones

Coco started off singing at young age. Jones starred in Disney film Let it Shine alongside Tyler James Williams and Trevor Jackson and made appearances on Good Luck Charlie. Jones signed with Hollywood Records and released her EP. Jones would later expose the mess of the Disney that made broken promises for her career on YouTube.

Jones has starred as Hillary Banks in Bel-Air, the drama version of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air on Peacock and released her album Caliber. Check out her website if you would like to support her and her new album 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇

China Anne McClain

China started off in starring Tyler Perry like House of Payne and Daddy’s Little Girls alongside her sisters: Sierra and Lauryn. She started singing on her YouTube channel. She would star in Disney’s Ant Farm playing as a child musical prodigy going to a high school program. Throughout the show, she performed some songs on the show that would later be on the Ant Farm soundtrack including the shows theme song and her cover version of Taio Cruz “Dynamite”

China has lent her voice in soundtracks and no album. China starred in CW action series Black Lightening and plans on starting her own production company.

The McClain Sisters aka Thrii

These former Disney stars have great vocal chops of Destiny's Child. They were signed with Hollywood Records and later released tracks for the Ant Farm soundtrack and for other Disney film soundtrack. They became an opening act for Big Time Rush tour. They never released an album with Hollywood Records and The group would disband in 2016 and move on different projects. They would reunite in 2020 and they returned on Disney Channel singing “Calling all the Monsters” for Halloween which was originally sung by China Anne McClain.

Zendaya

Though she was already at the peak of her success, Zendaya has a little success of her music career.

Zendaya

Zendaya had started out dancing at young age and volunteering at her moms job at a local Oakland theater. She would star in Shake it Up. After one season of Shake it Up, she released her singles “Swag it Out” and “Watch Me”featuring her co-star Bella Throne.

She signed with Hollywood Records and released her self titled debut album in 2013.

Zendaya (2013)

Her positive reviews from music critics, who praised the album's production. Zendaya went on the Swag It Out Tour. After that, that was it. It was her only album but she could've made another. So far, Zendaya lent her voice on Shake it Up soundtrack with her co star Bella Thorne and the Greatest Showman film soundtrack which she also starred in alongside Hugh Jackman and former Disney star Zac Efron. Though she has already received success from her new show Euphoria and starred in Spider-Man film franchise. She also expressed in a Variety with her Spider-Man costar Andrew Garfield that she never wanted to be a pop star. But who knows?

Honestly I don’t know why these former Disney stars never got their music properly promoted just the Caucasian Disney stars (nothing against them) but they could have been better and have their music properly promoted as theirs.
