K-Pop craze known as the Korean wave (Hallyu) is not a new thing but nowadays more people are getting to know about it. Korean pop is widely popular due to its audiovisual elements and has been creating a wide range of hype worldwide. K-Pop has its major contribution not only in the entertainment industry but also in the South Korean economic system which is likely to grow every year. South Korea has properly utilized the wealth and fame of K-pop idols that have increased the net worth of both idols and the country.

The first K-pop group Seo Taiji boys formed in 1992 to the most iconic and popular boy band BTS ( Bangtan Sonyeondan ) formed in 2013, the Korean music had a dynamic change and had put the world in the K-pop spell. Though the music and lyrics are different and difficult, the Korean music industry has been able to win the hearts of many people around the globe and has been creating massive success through their flawless action, eye-catching scene, and heart-touching songs.

Psy: Gangnam Style

PSY's single hit "Gangnam Style" unexpectedly breakthrough internationally and has influenced popular culture worldwide. It topped the music charts of more than 30 countries including the UK, Italy, Russia, Canada, Australia. Due to its viral many reactions were made by individuals, groups, and organizations. It became a major topic and became the talk of the town. He became the creator to open the path for the young generation in western countries. He is now well settled and is now the owner of his own entertainment industry.

BTS

But now BTS is leading the Korean Wave around the world through their extreme popular music videos and their world tours. Selling over a million albums, BTS has become the best-selling artist in South Korea and they have broken into international music markets by 2017. According to an analysis of 2018 company revenues, the most popular Korean boy band, BTS in the Korean entertainment industry has made up 3% of South Korea's GDP ranking in over 4.9 billion dollars in that year which is around 5.6 trillion South Korean won.

The craze of the bands is so much that when BTS donated 1 million dollars to racial justice organization Black Lives Matter then their fan ARMY spread all over the world decided to come together and match a million dollars with their idols and help in the donation. It was a difficult task but they matched with their idols which made headlines worldwide "BTS Army matches $1 million donations to Black Lives Matter". From here we can see the craziness that K-pop has created among their fans.

Debuted in 2013, BTS has come through the long path of struggling and has created a unique image that every Korean has heard of. They have successfully become the face of Korea and able to be recognized by western music industries and western artists with some awesome collaborations.

Blackpink

The popular female band BLACKPINK is also not stepping back. Debuted in 2016, they have gained massive success in such a short period of time. They have broken numerous records throughout their career till now. Blackpink is currently the most followed girl group on Spotify And the most subscribed music group with 60.7 million subscribers now which is obvious to grow in the coming days.

No matter what language they speak, K-pop melodies and their visual activities are instantly stuck in the head which makes their music more appealing to fans. The craze is yet to grow with the more energetic and modern form of Korean pop which is impossible to resist for most people. The Korean wave is yet to increase and the non-Korean fans are very much excited to watch their idol's performance in the upcoming world tour. Most of the idol's concerts are always over-populated and there is no chance of empty seats. But due to the current situations of the ongoing pandemic idols are unable to perform as usual. Even though the situations are unfavorable they have come with ideas of virtual fan meet, virtual concert, and virtual programs to give their fans love and support.
