Chris Brown's New Album Receives Pitchfork's Lowest Score Of The 2020s So Far

Chris Brown just got G-checked by Pitchfork magazine. In their lowest rating since the 2020’s started, they skewered the man with a 1.3 rating. The release known as BROWN got shut down by the publication for which the “Deuces” singer most likely will not care.

He has a legion of fanatics that don’t care about magazine reviews. For time immemorial, artists have lamented or outright lambasted the reviewers of their music.

What will Brown say about his latest effort? Will he look at the rating and improve or stand on business and just eat the reaction?

No matter what he does, he will be haunted by his past despite his enormous talent.

If you take away parts of his history, he’s put up classics and probably a masterpiece. To take the reality of his situation seriously would mean he has the power to become an even greater artist. If he treats this like a speed bump rather than a road block, he will be able to recover from a setback like this.

Given the fact that he never lost a bit of talent, he has proven to be a forbidable act nevertheless. He excites and motivates and permits his audience to witness his brilliance.

Though he will never reach the heights of the late great Michael Jackson, he will still hold his own position as his own man. No matter what the circumstances, Brown will always be Brown.

This should not be treated as a loss but as a lesson. He even says “I don’t need your approval” on the record. He’s writing his way out of his previous transgressions in order to keep his own sanity. He’s been firing away missives disguised as songs. He’s been writing love letters and hate mail sometimes in the same song.

Chris Brown showcases in BROWN that he wants to be left alone. He knows his own life and the learning process he’s been going through for over two decades. If his latest effort scored so low on one publication, that does that mean it will be handed a poor estimation from other outlets?

Whatever may happen to Chris Brown, it will be because he had the audacity to continue to be successful in the face of opposition. By continuing to produce work, (and BROWN seems good so far as I listen to it while writing this) he should come out as the champion without a doubt. His prowess on the mic and his popularity among the ladies is what truly gives him his ability to be a strong singer and dancer.

Not to mention, his upcoming tour with Usher should only display his impactful vocals, dance moves, and master over the stage.

This should just be a one off review from a disgruntled rater who doesn’t have the talent that Chris Brown has if he wished for it on a star.

The makings of the artist has to weather such negative press. That’s the whole key to all of this. If Chris Brown just keeps pushing out work that he deems his core will love and the periphery will enjoy, too, he will have conquered this period in his life.

It will be a powerful way for Chris Brown to achieve even more at the awards shows as he mixes, R&B, soul, and blues altogether to offer something of worth. If he takes his time and makes it his mission to keep laying down tracks and the best women in the world, he will have a chance to continue to redeem himself.

That’s the beauty of this game. What you put in you get back even when the reviews are false.
