Britney Spears Is Free Now, But She Was Literally In Hell For 13 Years

Her bedroom was bugged, and she wasn’t allowed to give birth.

The ‘Free Britney’ campaign

I was 14 when “Baby One More Time” came out. Ever since I’ve been a fan of BS. Although I don’t listen to her much these days, I have all her tracks on my playlist.

As someone who has been following her case with her father’s conservatorship over her owing to the mental health issues she had way back in 2008, I strongly condemn her father’s exploitation of her.

She was literally in hell for the past 13 years with all the imposed rules and regulations over her financial, professional, and personal lives. It’s deeply saddening to know how little she could do with her own life as a famous pop star.

Well, first of all, Jamie has deliberately exploited his own daughter’s fame and money, citing her mental health problems. It’s a typical case where the daughter is a famous celebrity and has millions in the bank. She faces some issues, and the father steps in and starts being a parasite.

Britney should not have been under any conservatorship in the first place. She wasn’t terminally ill or had severe dementia. She was suffering from PTSD due to her divorce and losing custody of her kids. A lot of women suffer PTSD in such situations. When there’s a lot of money, there’s also a lot of unwanted crap going on.

Yes, she was mentally sick for a while. Losing custody of her kids was understandable, but making the conservatorship permanent a year after she almost recovered was something that can not be legally accepted.

A conservatorship is granted by a court to individuals who are unable to make their own decisions, like those with dementia or other mental illnesses.

The type of conservatorship her father had placed over her is called a probate conservatorship. That’s for people who are typically at their end-of-life or incapacitated so badly that they cannot provide themselves with food, clothing, or shelter.

A year or two of conservatorship could have been accepted, but 13 years of having full control over someone’s finances, and literally everything else, is an unforgivable injustice. To know that even the law was involved only feeds the fire.

A probate conservatorship was legally not for someone like BS, who was only going through PTSD.

Unspeakable and heart-wrenching things BS was put through under the conservatorship.

  • Her bedroom and her phones were bugged and tracked by her father’s secret service.
  • She was drugged and forced to sign deals and appear in shows she was not interested in.
  • She was not allowed to remove her birth control device if she chose to become a mom again. She wanted to have another baby with her fiance.
  • She was not allowed to remarry anyone.
  • She was paid $2000 per week as her weekly allowance, while her father was paid $16000 per month to be her conservator, plus office space and a large portion of her royalties from all the shows and tours she was doing at the time.
  • It also dictated when and how long she could meet with her sons in a month.
  • ....................

A proper psych analysis was not carried out to see whether BS was really incapable of living a normal life with her mental health issues. This, to me, is an outright crime. According to the law, she was supposed to be presented at the court for the judge to see her before giving his judgment.

The conservatorship was sanctioned and made permanent without following legal protocols. This is ridiculous. The judge could not have been unaware of the law. So, what really went on? Cash deals between Jamie Spears and the law. For what? Her hard-earned money?

Spears’ father and his attorneys justified the continued conservatorship by arguing that she was especially susceptible to people who sought to take advantage of her money and fame.

This unlawful case of injustice has shined a light on conservatorships across the continent, and as a result of Britney’s testimony, new legalization has been passed to try to ensure that conservatorships like this do not happen again.

At a court appearance in June, the star asked the judge to end the “abusive” arrangement and said she was “traumatized”.

    What now for BS?

    Twitter

BS can now start having control over her life, get married, and have kids again. She can also control all her finances and properties. She is in the process of hiring her new team of managers. She also said that she is going to ensure her father pays for all the mental trauma that he imposed upon her in the last 13 years.

Her fans, myself included, are really happy about her well-deserved freedom from the clutches of her own father. Thousands of tweets are pouring in from all over the world. BS said she felt like crying for a whole day. And by that, she meant tears of joy.

What do you think about her case and suffering? This should not happen to anyone again. It’s sheer injustice. If her dad is found guilty of even a few shady things he did to track his daughter’s private life, I think he must be lawfully punished. It’s creepy what he did.

Britney was either too trusting of her father or she was threatened during the whole period of having to follow the conservatorship’s official and ‘unofficial’ rules.
