Poetically wielding an eclectic taste for wordy raps, spilling vibrant bars and experimental flows - indie artist Brettathew is taking on the industry to revitalize appreciation for unconventional hip-hop, generating out of Western New York sparking global appeal.

Wordplay is the core of his artistry, as a vessel to channel volatile energy into constructive release - in a final attempt to create order from chaos. Showcasing his versatility of melodic gravitas that effortlessly glide between rapping and rhythmic flows, fire bars, cold bars, raw to gourmet, and with iconic punchlines - he aims to touch lives through his own unique strain of hip-hop.

One of the latest talents to broadcast from WNY, with his first public releases marking a new chapter, September 2020. With a self-driven approach to the craft, Brettathew is uniquely unorthodox. He creates for numerous reasons, but music is his anchor in many ways. With lyrics vastly grounded in a longing for love, he has his sights on continuously evolving his skills, perspective, and discography. All of his releases are available online on all music streaming platforms, as well as content posted regularly up on social media platforms.

Brettathew has dozens of songs currently released, here is a list of his EPs:

Sticky Thoughts

Sticky Thoughts

This is Brettathew's 1st concept EP released. The cover art is a photo from the back inside cover of one of his journals. The way Brettathew's consciously honest lyricism sets the mood to each track makes this EP a raw vibe. His YouTube/self taught, pragmatic approach to engineering, mixed with the authentically emotional vocals and surprisingly seasoned lyricism.. this piece is unique. The playful vocal effects, like the robot voices and autotune, were recorded with the 0 latency Roland VT-4. This project features "Free," "Fk the $y$tem," and "Way out."

Crashing

Crashing

Clearly from this cover art, this EPs title is a double entendre. Wait though, does this project showcase Brettathew Actually? Trying? To? Chill? Out? That being a surprise because he seems to almost never enjoy time off, unless with a special lady. Needless to say he still brings the heavy bars and face-paced wordplay. Pressure builds and everyone needs to blow off some steam, or some hazy smoke and spit. The songs include "Knock Knock," "Bottoms Up," "Bubble Rap."

Da Future's Nostalgic

Da Future's Nostalgic

In his 3rd concept EP, Brettathew invites his listeners into a dim-lit, near-future of what could be. Late stage capitalism is now. With consciously cynical lyrics travelling across the dimensions of the beatscapes, the downward spiral of humanity and insanity are one. They say history repeats itself if not learned, and yet we're still here? Including classic Americana such as "Ego," "Manifest Destiny," "Candle Flame," and "Wait."

Clubyss

Clubyss

Clubyss is rather self explanatory. Brettathew indulges the hoes in some hedonistic relief. 😈 Sweaty dance floor and throwing it back kinda vibes here. This project is turning up some "APE SHIT" and "OH SKEET."

BLUE

BLUE

BLUE marks a significant step as an artist. This project introspectively unravels deep concepts and emotions, kicking up dust settled in the somber sulci of da sadboi. Unstable coping mechanisms for mental illness and heartbreak in a cold, cold world can spiral one into madness. The release reaches to all the hearts of those longing to be longed for, the hopeless romantics, the caring and the hurt. Songs include "Bad Trip," "Paradox," and "Ya Never Know Where Shxt GO Freestyle."

S P A C E Y

S P A C E Y

S P A C E Y signifies an inevitable and needed breath for Brettathew. Attempting to throttle energy and focus to survive and flourish. It can be thought of as conceptual form of meditation. Time and space away from what needs work, is also often needed. One may stumble running while staring at the finish line. Moreover, consistency should be prioritized over intensity because existing in a perpetual state of blissful burnout has consequences. The lyricism of this EP reflects some introspective consciousness. To not fear making moves in life without the attraction of omniscience can be a troublesome balance. This experimental project includes "i dunno," "Blacked Out," and "Legends of an Intergalactic Poet."
