Being a rookie band doesn’t mean that viewers expect less, it just means that they want more of fresh content from the new comers. At most times the spectator is hard to please. The five boy South Korean Pop group, TXT is no exception.

TXT is an all boy K-Pop group comprising of members Choi Soobin (Leader, Vocalist, Rapper, Dancer), Choi Yeonjun (Rapper, Dancer, Vocalist), Choi Beomgyu (Center, Vocalist, Rapper, Dancer), Kang Taehyun (Vocalist, Dancer, Rapper), Kai Kamal Huening (Vocalist, Dancer, Rapper) aging from 21 to 18.

TXT is the acronym of Tomorrow X Together, the name itself is a reflection towards their work and also its meaning which navigates to think about “…five Individuals come Together under one dream in hope of a better Tomorrow.” Whereas their fandom Being MOA standing for Moment Of Alwaysness. Although they are mostly introduced using their initials they prefer to be mentioned using their full name.

It was in 2017, Big Hit Entertainment announced plans for a second boy group after five years of BTS. TXT members were revealed on the 10th of January 2019, by YouTube videos depicting each member in the order Yeonjun, Soobin, Huening Kai, Taehyun, Beomgyu, over the next ten days. TXT officially debuted on the 4th of March, with their Extended Play(EP) “Dream Chapter: Star”. A debut broadcast was aired on Mnet and the agency’s YouTube page. The music video of the Album’s lead single “Crown” gained 14.5 million views on YouTube, while breaking record for the most viewed K-Pop debut music video by 24 hours for any boy group plus also winning the title for most liked K-Pop debut music video with 2.3 million likes in one single day. Even though this was the group’s first ever EP, it topped the Gaon Album Chart and Billboard World Albums Chart unexpectedly. Meanwhile “Crown” also topped Billboard world digital Songs Chart.

With their immense talent and achievement within few weeks, they were able secure no.1 in the Billboard Emerging Artists making themselves the second fastest male K-Pop to appear in the chart. They debuted in the Billboard 200 at 140. The quintet also is credited as the highest-charting debut album by a male Korean Pop group. The Five performed for the first time on Mnet’s M Countdown, that was held on March 7th. Crown” won them the first ever music show win on SBS MTV’s the Show. Unlike BTS, who had to wait longing for years for their first ever win, TXT won it right after a week of their debut. It was an eye-opener to the audience, their success from the very beginning was widely discussed over social media, newspaper etc.

Due to their victory in the first month, it was possible for them to announce the first ever overseas tour in less than a month of their first kick off. It was a six-show debut showcase held in USA’s New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Orlando and Atlanta over the course of two weeks starting from May 9th to May 24th. Amazing yet True, Tickets for all the shows were sold out eventually within 24 hours. At the end their triumphant showcase, TXT enacted at the 2019 iHeart Radio Concert in Los Angeles. It was unexpectedly announced that they would be presenting in two of Japan’s Largest Fashion Festivals, marking a historic moment of the First Ever Korean artist to perform at both shows during the same season.

A month or so later they were lucky enough to find time despite hectic schedules, to stage at the KCON Music Festival, one of the well-known music festival of the world which was assembled at the Madison Square Garden, New York. In the same month they were able secure a nomination in the MTV Video Music Awards under “Best K-Pop”.

Later their first studio album was soon declared to be set for the month of August, unfortunately it was postponed reasoning members Soobin being infected with conjunctivitis and Yeonjun diagnosed with back pain. However, it was once again pushed back towards October from September due to members Huening Kai and Taehyun being in contact from conjunctivitis. Finally, on October 21st 2019, Tomorrow X Together released their very first Studio Album titled “The Dream Chapter: Magic” with “Nine and Three Quarters” or rather known as “Runaway” as the title track. The Album was highly praised by Korean Critics because of the connection among Magical Elements, such as using the famous platform nine and three quarters included in the Harry Potter series as their title track. TXT’s Album consisted of a variety mixture of sounds and genres like R&B, Tropical House, Hip Hop, Aucostic Pop etc. During the first week it passed 124,000 sales, moreover Magazine “Dazed” named the lead single of the album as “one of the best K-Pop songs in the year 2019”.

TXT’s Glorious, flashy performances bought them rookie accolades at Asia Artist Awards, Melon Music Awards, Mnet Music Awards, Golden Disk Awards and Seoul Music Awards expressing an example of how hard they worked to pursue their dreams, and showing how victorious their rookie year was. Not knowing how 2020 would affect their work as many artists the five started working for a Japanese Debut on the, that was revealed on the 15th of January to their viewers. It’s primary single “Magic Hour” was certified a GOLD by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for selling almost more than 100, 000 units.

In the same year as at of May 18, TXT exhibited the EP “Dream Chapter: Eternity” with a well-known single “Can’t You See Me?” which won them a Radio Award for “Best song of Summer”. The album gained along a platinum certification from Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) for successful sales worldwide. On the 19th of August another Japanese single “Drama” was released, which again was certified as a GOLD by RIAJ. A month later their 3rd EP “Minisode1: Blue Hour” disclosed, which was once again able to debut the Billboard 200 Chart at No.25. November 24th marked a special moment for them, as they released their first original soundtrack “Your Light” for the teen drama “Live On”. Their debut Japanese Studio Album was revealed on January 20th this year.

Tomorrow X Together

TXT’s meaningful videos and lyrics explores both the dark side and bright side of a teen’s feeling and thoughts. It may consist of dreams but including nightmares too. They have been named “Game Changers of K-Pop in 2019”. Despite being the younger siblings of BTS, who had a rough start to which the septet had dig a way, furnish the roads by themselves, TXT started with a path made for themselves, therefore known as the “Ace of Rookies”.
