Actress Aditi Pohankar will be seen in the upcoming OTT show of Yash Raj Films. Yes, you heard right. Actress Aditi Pohankar, who has been winning the hearts of the fans over the time with her beautiful talent, especially on digital platform with OTT shows like She, Aashram and others, is now all set to be seen in the upcoming OTT show of Yash Raj Films titled Mandala Murders, which has Vaani Kapoor in the leading role.

Aaditi was an athlete in her school and college. She represented Maharashtra in athletics and won medals in 100-metre and 200-metre races. She attended acting workshops by theatre director Satyadev Dubey and by Makarand Deshpande.

Aditi Career :

Pohankar began her career in theatre and had her first film role in Kunasathi Kunitari. She was spotted by director Nishikant Kamat when he saw Makarand's play Time Boy in Mumbai, where the actress starred as a seven-year-old boy.[citation needed] Kamat made her go through two days of screen tests for a role in his Marathi film Lai Bhaari (2014) and cast her opposite Riteish Deshmukh after being impressed with her temperament. Pohankar revealed that during the shoot, Kamat gave her the liberty to do what she wanted as an actress and to get into her character, she visualized herself as "an evil person".[citation needed] Lai Bhaari opened to positive reviews, with Pohankar's villainous character receiving praise. The film went on to become one of the highest-grossing Marathi films.

In 2017, Pohankar starred alongside Atharvaa in the Tamil film Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum.

Three years later, Pohankar starred in the Netflix web series She (2020), playing a police constable used as a honeytrap. Nandini Ramnath of Scroll.in found Pohankar to be "riveting" in the role, adding that she successfully "unlocks her character's complexity".

Later in 2020, she starred in Aashram, playing the role of a young wrestler who is attracted to the seemingly democratic setup of the ashram, upon learning that her being a Dalit is keeping her from success due to casteism. She gained wider attention for her roles in the Hindi web series She and Aashram (both 2020–present). For this role, she was trained by wrestler Sangram Singh. A reviewer for IANS opined, "Aaditi Pohankar's zestful Pammi stands out for the way the actress traces the character arc.

Movie Experience :

Actress Aaditi Pohankar says it was highly challenging for her to play the character of Bhumika Pardeshi in the web series 'She'. Pohankar is seen portraying an undercover cop and a secret seductress.

She says it was emotionally draining to do this role to perfection.

"The second season will give a lot more context to Bhumika's past. As an artist, I enjoy portraying challenging roles that allow me to experience a range of varying emotions," says the actress who was seen in Marathi's action film 'Lai Bhaari' and rose to fame with 'She' and 'Aashram' web series.

She further shares how the role had an impact on her mind and how she connects emotionally with her character.

"While shooting for Season 2, there were days when I've just gone to a corner and cried because I deeply empathized with what Bhumika was going through. There are many Bhumikas in this world, her plight and pain will resonate with a lot of women," she adds.

The series also stars Kishore Kumar G, Vishwas Kini, Shivani Rangole, Sam Mohan, and Suhita Thatte, amongst others in pivotal roles. Written and created by Imtiaz Ali, the series is directed by Arif Ali and is produced by Viacom18 Studios' Tipping Point and Window Seat Films.
