The road to fame and fortune as a musician is for so many people around the world not an easy one. Actually, if you ask 99.9% of musicians what their journey in music has been, you'll find out that it takes a lot of sweat, blood, and tears to make it in the music business.

One way people try to break into the business is by competing on reality television singing shows. Shows like Nigerian Idol and The Voice Nigeria have in-built audiences of people who love to see musical talent, and the only way to turn those shows' audience to fans of yours is to actually audition and get placed on the show.

Sometimes though, a contestant auditions for a show, gets on a show, and in some cases even WINS a show, and STILL doesn't get the breakout success they hoped for. What do they do in that case? They audition for another show and hope for the best.

For today's list, this is the set of people we'll be counting down. Let's check out 7 The Voice Nigeria Contestants Who Previously Contested on Other Shows. Are you ready to jump in to see who they are? Then let's go!

1. Kitay

Team Yemi Alade's own Kitay popularly referred to by Yemi on the show as her 'Kit Kat' has actually been on quite a number of reality singing shows. Kitay competed on Project Fame Season 9 where he ended up being the 2nd runner up, and also competed on Access the Stars Nigeria ending up as the 1st runner up.

Let's see how things turn out this time for Kitay.

2. Dotun

This one is quite funny. Viewers of The Voice Nigeria will remember when this season, Adedotun Adeleye came on the show to audition and did not get any chairs to turn for him, but still ended up getting advice from Waje.

Yeah, this same Dotun after being rejected from The Voice Nigeria went over to Nigerian Idol, yup, the same Nigerian Idol that just finished and got accepted there. He didn't win but Dotun ended up being part of the top 11 on that show. Isn't that funny?

3. Dapo

One of my favorite singers on the show (him, Esther, Kpee and Naomi Mac are my people!), Dapo has also been in this reality singing show wahala for some time now. Dapo competed on ProjectNuWine2k15. He didn't win but was reportedly one of the finalists on the show.

4. Naomi Mac

Now talk about somebody that has been AROUND. 10 years ago, Naomi competed on the 2011 edition of Nigerian Idol. Yes. Later, she also competed on Star Nigeria. The girl even had a whole solo music career complete with a song featuring Adekunle Gold. Naomi Mac has been A-ROUND!

5. Loven

Check this out. You know how I told you that Kitay came second position during the Access the Stars Nigeria competition, well guess who won?

Loven!

Yes, Loven - the same Loven that did not pass the knockout stage of The Voice Nigeria won a grand prize worth 150 Million Naira during the 2020 Access The Stars competition.

So I need you to understand that. Just last year, Loven WON that show, then came on The Voice Nigeria this year and did not pass the knockout stage. Instead, the person that was on the same team Yemi with him, Kitay, who he had beat the year before was picked on this particular show and Loven went home.

This life!

6. Esther

By far one of the most beloved people on the show and who I genuinely think will win the whole thing, Esther Benyeogo competed on the 2017 edition of God's Children Great Talent and get this, Esther WON!

At the time she was 19 and Esther left that show with a N250 million management deal, N10 million cash, and a brand new car.

I'm sorry but why is she competing again? I guess it's for the exposure sha because nna, when you've already won N10 million in cash and N250 million management deal, wetin again?

You know what? Maybe it's time for me to come and start competing in these singing competition shows. The fact that you can win millions of naira in one show and then go and compete in another one. Nawa o! I don't know how I feel about it. What do you think? Let me know in the comments on my Facebook post.

That’s All.
