The Four Paws sweating it out with their tune, "Roaming"

(Take 1): The campus was crawling with patrons of various groupings. Clusters of the anonymous stood and talked amongst themselves, laughing, straddling objects of their personal bubbles, rocking and swaying to their own soundtracks to life. Each one only minutes away from an evening of high performance creativity in action.

(Take 2): Microphones and their speakers units were set, tuned, tested, and established without a care in the world for noise complaints turned to their maximums. Bass, trebles, the feedback pierced the floors, the walls, the rafters above. Nails and screws behind pillars had no hope in avoiding such pre and post aftershocks of musical fanfare.

On the bulletin board immediately on display were the talents of the evening set to perform.

(Take 3): If there was a final decision to be made to determine which talent performed the greatest set of the night, nearly a thousand of submissions with their opinions would flood the ballot box. There is no doubt about that. And once the CREW gathered, collected, counted, sorted, filed and tallied the results of those nearly one thousand submissions, the result is anyone’s guess to whom would be dubbed victorious.

Ranking these amazing acts according to the nights’ events seems like an uneven task to journey upon. Each and every session was unique and special in their own performance way, adding a new flavor to the zest of the night’s delights. As with all things, others will prefer one over another, and that comes at the expense of such a wide collective of attitudes, ears, eyes, and overall musical palettes that are present within the minds of music goers everywhere. Never a bad thing, nor is it a complaint. This is simply another avenue to which the talents are finding themselves being listed and discussed within arenas of the musical landscape.

We’ve come a lot further than their ancestors which solely relied on terrestrial waves and the process of hit tunes floating the homes and car radios for listeners. Their visual crowds have a plethora of accessible outlets to seek and discover, to find, to simply cruise about determining which is their best and what does rest well within their own musical libraries. We’re in unique times, musically.

Soundstamp of the Evening in Action!

(Take 4): After the bottles were consumed, the floors were stomped on from random dance encounters to the music, the sweat had been dried away, the speakers had cooled off, amplifiers were no longer buzzing, the lights were turn on to their maximum exposures and the walls no longer vibrated. The collective of the crowd was found enjoying the midnight snacks provided by the studios.

Surrounding the campus were those on their own time away from other events happening around the quad. Activities alive and thriving in between nooks of buildings and pathways with the festive and those who frolic about. Face painters to those standing about absorbing the scene made the complex tapestry of the moment one for the records pages of the 48th&4th calendar and its events of the evening.

Wrap-up:

What an amazing session for the entire campus, the venues, the acts, talents, CREWS, fans, and listeners of the previous performing hours. Next weekend's events are sure to delight the senses of the musical membranes of all who attend, which I will surely find myself in between the speakers and walls again. Hope to see you there on the dancefloors in passing sessions of fresh talents, festivities, and amazing foods to be shared around in those moments.
