Hello welcome to my little page. I am mostly a horror movie reviewer, but I will write some different things. I am more of a beginner writer and just do hope to have good things out of becoming a writer.
A Nightmare on Elm Street Movie Review
A Nightmare on Elm Street is a horror movie released in 1984. A classic horror movie with horror icon star, Robert Englund, as the icon Freddy Krueger. We have all heard the nursery rhyme “1,2 Freddy is coming for you…” as kids. The nursery rhyme may have been heard in a YouTube video. In a way a lot of people have heard the nursery rhyme. It came from this hit movie. A Nightmare on Elm Street is about Nancy, Tina, Rod, and Glen all having similar dreams of a burnt-faced man wearing a red and green sweater. On one of his hands he wears a glove with finger blade knives. He comes after them in their dreams, but once Tina is the first to die everyone starts to die one by one leaving Nancy as our final girl.
Last Night in Soho Movie Review
Last Night in Soho is a movie that came out in 2021 and was directed by Edgar Wright. I stayed in the loop of this movie in hopes of having the chance to see it. I am glad because this movie astounded me. I wanted to rewatch this movie because the soundtrack down to the cinematography was phenomenal.
Unwanted Words From An Unwanted Baby
In a time of abortion bills and crazy fights against the government for women, I found out something about myself back in my senior year of college. It was 2019 and I had the random thought to talk to my mom. I called her after class and we just had a normal conversation. My mom and I did not really have a good relationship with good boundaries to not get into arguments. The thought came up to me and I said “Mom I am old enough now and I want to ask what happened to my dad?” She paused for a bit before asking me why would I want to know now. I just looked at the table before answering again. “I just thought I should know now.” She said “Well when I found out I was pregnant with you, I told the guy I was with about my pregnancy. He was not really happy about the news. He gave me two options for what to do. He said ‘I could either get rid of you and stay with him or keep you and he leaves me.’ So I decided to keep you.”
June 9 Movie Review
June 9 is another found footage film with a very straight forward type of setting. June 9 was directed by T. Michael Conway. What happened on June 9? Would be the tagline for the movie as we follow a group of teens led by Derek spending summer fun going on a haunted scavenger hunt in their small town of Boston Mills. The teens get into some mischief looking into old, haunted places and they stumble upon a type of cornfield place with this weird family living there. The movie does start off strong with showing you screaming and people being chopped on a box tv. After that we just follow the teens in their mayhem around the town until the fateful day of June 9.
Has Horror Changed That Much?
Horror is defined as the intense feeling of fear. The main topic is about horror movies. Horror movies have changed over time and have reshaped what exactly horror is. The new horror has delved into using real life topics and being more atmospheric. A good example is the movie Get Out by Jordan Peele. He uses the movie to bring up racial topics between black and white people. For atmospheric we can look at the movie The Lodge. The Lodge is a slow build up into what is going on between the kids and the new girlfriend. The movie even delves into cult topics and seeing how mental toll of a mind can bring about drastic consequences. Talking more about horror let us take a step back and think about what the first horror movie you watched was. Take some time to think about it. Think about how that movie affected you when you first saw it. Was it scary? Was it a complete mind confusion? Was it something that stuck with you for a while? I can say my first horror movie was Child’s Play. After a afternoon of my mom telling me not to watch it, as soon as she went to sleep I did in fact watch it. I enjoyed the movie so much that I wanted to see what other movies I could watch. I have seen so many horror movies over time that my list is enourmous.
The Monster Project Movie Review
Starting off strong with a found footage film, I present The Monster Project! The Monster Project is a found footage film directed by Victor Mathieu. The film is about Devon wanting to do something more besides the scary monster videos he records and puts on YouTube for people around the world to see. With his best friend Jamal, he decides he wants something more to put online like what if they searched for real monsters. He puts a Craigslist ad to search for real monsters for his “Monster Project” what happens next is a crazy whirlwind of madness.
