An Ode to Autumn!
The first thing I do when I see trees in late August or early September is to scan the whole tree and see if the leaves have started to yellow. I don’t know where it came from but for as long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated by how steadily autumn consumes the lush green leaves until it turns yellow and golden and falls to the ground.

The Little Mechanic
Phakhui slid underneath the SUV and started turning the nut of the spring pin with a wrench spanner. His scrawny 12-year-old frame made it easy for him to manoeuvre underneath the car but his hands were much too weak for him to loosen the inch thick metal nuts. He steadied himself by placing his foot on the tyre at the opposite side before putting all his weight on the wrench to loosen the first nut. It took him 30 minutes to loosen all the spring pins and U bolts before he could take down the whole leaf spring assembly.

My Friend from the Other side of the Himalayas.
Tenzin was watching the news on his small TV when Tim and I entered his shop. It was one of those small shops at Glory's Plaza in Shillong that sold rip-offs of branded clothing and shoes at a subsidized price. I was a regular customer of Tenzin so we immediately got into a conversation about how business was going. Tim, on the other hand, looked around for a T-Shirt. We were still in college then and Tim had this habit of buying one tee every month with money he saved from his allowance.

Ghosts of our Culture and Tradition that once was!
Sitting huddled by the fireplace, roasting maize after dinner was the ideal pastime for us cousins during our summer vacations while we were young. Often, these sittings by the crackling fire would be accompanied by the narration of folktales by the elder members of the family.

The Stories Behind my Top 10 Photographs of Children
There's something extremely rewarding about photographing children. For me, every photograph I take of a child is like reliving a part of my childhood again. Not many subjects draw the attention of viewers like the curious eyes and the unadulterated smiles of little children.

These Dusty pitches called home!
He was of my age but much smaller than me. He was tanned, had brownish black hair that was always sticky with sweat and dust; he smelt of sweat too. I had known him for so long I couldn’t remember when the first time I saw him was.
