It is said there was a previous version of a Praise of Aliveness called ‘the Pledge of Allegiance.’

It’s said there was once a time in which every dawn, all across the lands of Amore+Ki, children were forced to place their hand on their heart, and recite this incantation in unison.

An incantation in which they pledged allegiance … to a piece of cloth! An inanimate piece of material. A dead thing.

I can only imagine that pledging allegiance to death must not have been enlivening. While words are not all powerful, words certainly have power.
