Cold pierces the steel hull, like icy fingers probing through every crevice and nook. No man finds comfort, no man finds relief. Stale bodies huddle together and shiver, clinging to each other and the surrounding cold environment. The hull groans with each wave beating its full power against it. This thin shell of man made steel is all that stands between the wide eyed men and the full force of nature.
Losing the fight
Bernie sat cross-legged on the harsh, loose gravelled carpark surface. His posture one of slumped resignation, his downward stare a confirmation of his defeat. 30 minuets before this he had been a champion that would swear black and blue that there was not a man alive that could de-throne him from his self declared kingship. He examined his knuckles, they were torn and bloody and his opponents front tooth had embedded itself firmly in his right index knuckle. His wrists torn to shreds from grappling hard on the pavement, his his left knee swelling with a warm feeling letting him know that something had defiantly been smashed.
*This is a story inspired by true events that happened to me, some things have been changed based on how much I feel should be shared. although I believe that PTSD and other forms of trauma can be helped through the aides of psychedelics and other durgs, Everyone should seek help through more established channels first.*
Friends When You Need Them
HENRY! Henry sat in the backseat of the beaten up, multi-coloured, vomit inducing 98' ford falcon, it's hard to do much else when someone is yelling your name in your face. He sat on the worn, stained fabric of the car seat that had innumerable bodily fluids smeared into it, this car had obviously been quite transient in its life, strange grey stains on the floor and roof, claw marks from several animals on the door, and seatbelt clasps that were clearly just for show.
Adventure Into The Unseen Part III
Five small boats. Seventy three men. This is what remains of the crew. They had departed the open space of the bay where they thought themselves safe. They rowed, each boat full of darting eyes, all the men silent, knowing that somewhere out there, in the very trees to their flanks, could be the silent foes that had butchered their friends and burned their only sure passage home. the voyage was now one way, each man forced to commit, the alternative would be to cower and give up hope, sit on the beach and wait to die.
Adventure Into The Unseen Part I
The hull sung low and deep as it breached the crest of another high wave, the thousandth that the trireme had barrelled through this morning alone and because of this the caulk had begun to be forced through the gaps in the wood, the sheer force of the waves pounding the very glue holding the hull together.
Adventure Into The Unseen Part II
The trireme had been beached at a small stone bay at the mouth of a narrow river. The sail in tatters, the mast collapsed half into the deck, and many, many holes and gashes littered the hull. The few men with shipwright experience already having been put to work fixing what they could, she would sail again, but the crew very aware that they may be needed to leave in a hurry.
