Hockley airsoft arena
My parents have always worked hard since I can remember. My dad is very intelligent man and has multiple expertises like engineering, teaching and computers, plus a lot more. Even though he has dyslexia he still tries hard and pushes himself to do his best. He can be very blunt which is why my mum is so great she balances everything out and is also very smart but more when it comes to writing and the accounts. Together they are the perfect team. I’m on the autistic spectrum, got okay grades at school but in class education never suited me. Didn’t have any friends growing up. Tried couple apprenticeship but the first apprenticeship ended up being scrapped by the company and the 2nd didn’t work out. My parents asked me if I wanted a job with there new business. I won’t lie didn’t think they were serious but fast forward to January 2015 the arena was built by all of us by hand and we were opening to the public . Since opening we have had good months and bad months like any business but my parents always found a way to keep it going. My sisters have worked for my parents to pay for university and my uncle now works for the company because he hated his old job. My husband who I met through my parents company also works for the company but as a gun engineer. By opening this business we have made parents feel better about there child’s hobbie because we explain and show parents what it’s all about. Younger kids love nerf it’s a club they can do after school or as a birthday party. Even scouts, beavers and cubs comes to us for there Christmas or Easter party. It’s different there isn’t an indoor arena around our area. My kids have grown up at the arena and me and my husband want to keep the family business going in the future then pass it down to our children. We want to expand, the business has so much more to offer we just need the funding. Covid19 could be the end of us unfortunately which will upset mums, dads and children. My parents hard work will be ruined. I’m doing everything I can think of to keep business going. That is why all money I make goes to my parents business. We have some boot sale items we are currently trying to sell on the company eBay and guns on prefired that are being sold at discount price. Unfortunately we can trade online at the moment but we still trying to come up with ways to make money for the business. Money would also go onto advertising so people know to come to us when we are back up and running. The website is still viewable ready for when we re open and start taking orders online again. We are also in process of trying to upgrade the arena to make it fresher and new for our regular players. Obviously an upgrade isn’t cheap so every penny helps. Loads of small businesses are struggling it’s just personally for me and lot of other people involved. A lot our children who have some sort of learning disability or mental health will also struggle if the company goes under as it’s a release for them and to see or make friends. Promoting gun safety is a big deal for us and hopefully prevent as much gun crime and accidents in future. Guns are not dangerous people are. It’s no different to learning boxing or archery. Any thing can kill if you want it to. I hope you consider my parents business as it’s unique to the area and means a lot to different people for different reasons.

Environment is the future
Dear Prime Minister, The world works by having and spending money. You can’t spend money if there is no world to spend it in. Currently the UK produces more than 100 million tonnes of waste every year. Introducing environmental rules that businesses have to abide by could help reduce the amount of waste we produce as a country. Amazon send out ridiculous size boxes for the smallest of items, then the buyer throws the cardboard away. We like to think that people recycle but realistically a lot of people are lazy and just rip the cardboard up and place in bin bag. Make the companies take the boxes back and re use the boxes like we do with Ocado shopping bags. Alternatively encourage family’s to use the cardboard to build spaceships with kids or donate the cardboard to schools so they can use it for arts and crafts with the children. Forcing companies to use eco friendly materials will in long run help small businesses grow and stay in business. You can do this by making party companies sell metal straws, reusable plates and plastic cups that can be kept. This means business can have a brand of there own and charge a little more for there items, family’s don’t throw everything away at end of party and kids get something to keep. Then all businesses pay taxes that go to your government and the world becomes a eco friendly place. Everybody wins. These are small ideas compared to the bigger ideas that can change the world. Big companies should also get involved. Holiday booking companies such as Thomas cook rely on beautiful views, clean waters and fresh air to make sales. We also rely on tourism in our country to make money. London for example is a big tourist attraction you have London zoo, Buckingham palace and Houses of Parliament. People are put off going to London due to the air pollution and traffic. Animals are the last of there kind in zoos and we cant breed animals quick enough. This is heart breaking to the children and animal lovers. Animals should die naturally not because of human laziness. At what point do you say enough is enough. We wouldn’t like it if someone just knocked down our home, we wouldn’t stand for it. Animals cant protect themselves against the humans and cat express there feelings of upset at anger. Its not just about destroying there home its about littering and making there home untidy. You wouldn’t force humans to breed, lock them in a cage with a stranger and we defiantly wouldn’t let humans die out due to detrimental environmental effects. There are also many medical properties that plants have and scientific studies that are currently in progress. Eventually all this will stop because we would of killed the plants and animals. Have you ever been to see the northern lights? Do you want to see them? Do you want your children and grandchildren to see them? If you answered yes to any of theses questions then you need to act now. Light pollution will stop us seeing this fantastic view. As we speak we could be killing the cue to cancer and other none curable diseases. The pollution we produce today is not only killing the planet it’s making the people of today sick. 28,000-36,000 people die of air pollution a year in U.K. Thats already to many people. Don’t let it get out of hand before someone does something. If Britain set an example then maybe polluted places like China will follow suit. Children, adults, elderly, humans in general light up at the sight of baby animals, fierce animals, sights that take your breath away and places that take you away from all your problems and stresses. Don’t ruin this because we put it down to another day. Tomorrow is not guaranteed today is. Together we can change the world the world can’t change for us.

Reality of breastfeeding for me.
Please understand this is my own experience and i am not judging or talking on anyone’s behalf. Im a mother of three, two boys and one girl. I had my first baby at 19 after being told I wouldn’t be able to conceive without help. I had decided from the start that i wanted to try breastfeeding. Once Albie was born i tried breastfeeding but at the hospital wasn’t any help when it came to how to breastfeed so i presumed i was doing it correctly. I was home the day after giving birth. The midwifes came round to see me for the routine visit, when asked how is breastfeeding i replied with it hurts. The midwife explained it shouldn’t hurt and latching on should be a strong tugging feeling not painful. She watched me attempt to latch Ablie on to the breast and she explained Albie was only sucking my nipple which it why it was causing pain. The midwife then showed me some breastfeeding techniques and positions too make sure he was latched on properly. After a couple of days my milk came it and it hurt A LOT. My boobs were swollen and heavy. Albie couldn’t latch on because of this so i had to use the breast pump. Nobody warned me of my milk coming in and what to expect. Unfortunately things got worse over the week and i started passing clots and blood. Albie was sick blood and i was expressing blood. I ended up back in hospital with an infection on IV antibiotics and told this was due to having Albie and having mastitis. I was so upset and felt like i had let my son down. I’m not ashamed to admit it i ended up with post natal depression but that is another story to tell. I gave up breastfeeding which wasn’t pleasant. I found using breast pads from the freezer helped sooth the pain and hot flannels. It was also recommended that i try cabbage leafs, that also helps its not and old wives tale.
