Too Soon
You should be here...I haven't even been able to allow myself to cry because I'm paralyzed in shock. You deserved so much more than what you received in this life. Maybe that was due to your own decisions, maybe it was due to your environment, I'll never know. The only thing I'm left with is the good times we shared. You are teaching me to annunciate my words when rapping to our favorite rap songs.

Violator
In walks a size 12 all black Timberland boot straight through your temple smashin' in your cerebral cortex. No need for diplomacy here, when diplomacy left your ignorant conscious ages ago. You want the diamonds without digging in the dirt to make them come to existence. You really think people give a damn about how slender you look in that outfit. Or how your toxic masculinity is hidden behind that insecure boy in you that is only validated by other people or by some temporary job.

2020
It's like staring an unknown abyss right in the eyes, and never sending any light or color. Where time becomes still, and your life is a revolving loading screen waiting for a moment to press play. How did we get here? It seemed like the world was on the pathway to great exploration and then BOOM...nothing. Unemployment thriving for seven months, Covid positive in July, limitations on travel and negligence all tangled together to create this "experience". Religious leaders become more suspect and you now must turn to learning on your own instead of entrusting that their intentions are pure.

The Black Panther
Thank You... It's hard to find the words to thank you for what you meant to me, and a nation that needed a hero. You were more than images on a screen, or a character in a screen-write. The divinity embedded in your speech as well as your aura inspires generations. By you living out the King of Wakanda it gave the nation of blacks hope for a heaven on earth. We as a black nation have endured so much hell just to be seen as people, that we lost the written message that we are more precious than rubies and finer than gold. You have given us a hope in tomorrow that though we aren't prepared to lead, we were created long ago with everything we will need in life.

Bullseye
Why have I become the target of a people who wish to rip me of my very existence? Do not let me down like this good people, do not target me for your fear of not understanding my uniqueness. I am the pyramids that can never be replicated or duplicated. I am the mountain of dreams, and the pillar of culture. I am the truth of history; I am the echo of freedom that blares in the eardrums of your soul. So why then have I become the target? When did it become acceptable to re-write my existence to benefit the systems you've created? Why now has oppression become the new chain that strangles me into a heartbeat less dangle, leaving me in a generational death? You've been given three lives before I even get a chance to enter the game of life.

Owner vs Consumer
How much longer will you be stuck in this perpetual black-hole of always owing? There's not benefit in always being indebted to this world. How much money does a would chuck chuck, until a wood chuck chuck runs out of luck? Why risk the inheritance of your children's children on this world’s false promises? Can you continue to be the crack-head for a piece of paper that only has value based off its color? The sliver of tree that has been given more power than the very essence of life itself by humanity. It is a false idol that is as empty as the depths of the ocean at night. A lifeless stillness that watches as we trampled over each other like crabs in a barrel.

Clarity
The Brink between infinity and conclusion grows from the pillar of understanding. Sweet melodies of temptation are always ever present to distract me from you. Secular entanglements, whose sole purpose is to drive me to non-conclusive dead ends. Often, I find you stupendously elusive of my mental grasp of comprehension. You become sifter and more cunning the more time elapses, and I have to dig deeper into my psyche for stability. You are almost synonymous with perfection in the sense that components of you can be reached but it's hard to fulfill you at 100%.

The Lost History
The world continually turns forgetting the embers that continue to glow in red. Ever burning heat of the past that silently grows and devours. 'We The People' is a fallacy in the logistics of the world we live in. In order for there to be a we there must be a unified 'I'. In the lack of love for all, there only becomes a love of gain. This is the Western imperialistic way of moving throughout history. Overcoming and overtaking, leaving a greater divide rather than an inclusive conclusive connection. 'The' is the principle of a continued now, and diligent present that cannot be swayed away from the uncertain future. It is the principle that connects not just sentences and thoughts on paper, but does the like in the world of action. It is practical, when only a wise practicality is embedded in its purpose.
