You Can Ring my Bell
The other night a commercial came on, lovely woman with a scarf on her head indicating a lack of hair, pale but healthy looking, and of course wearing a a fashionable pashmina around her neck. In the background happy nurses and IV poles and the woman was “ringing the bell” to indicate she had finished her prescribed rounds of chemotherapy. She had made it. She was now A SURVIVOR.

Dreams are Finite
She woke up with the remnants of the dream clinging to the back of her eyelids. She carefully kept her eyes closed while trying to put the fragments in some sort of order. As the pieces connected the details of the dream started to fill in. She could remember the weight of the baby as she swung her up off of the car seat. The movement of her warm limbs as she melted into her embrace. The sweet soft smell of the hair as it brushed against her lips when she planted a gentle kiss on the baby’s head.

Ear-y Sounds
I can’t remember ever not hearing tones in my ear. I don’t normally notice it until there is sudden silence in a room or if someone mentions ringing in their ears. It wasn’t until I was in my 40’s dealing with other health problems that during a conversation with a neurotologist that I realized not everyone had this. I assumed that all people had ringing in their ears to some degree or another and that people who talked about it as a problem just had it much worse.

My 1st Experience with CranioSacral therapy
I have a condition called Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. This causes me quite a bit of pain and for me the best solution has always been a massage to try and release some of the solid as a rock muscles in my neck and shoulders. I am lucky because I found a wonder LMT who makes me laugh while causing me pain.

My husband and I have been married for 35 years as of this writing and there is one chasm, cats. My husband likes cats as long as they’re not in our house or yard. Me, I don’t think you can really be complete as a human without having a cat to love.

The first time it happened it was just a phone call while I was sitting at my desk at work. The words made my breath catch and the world go a little dark “They found cancer cells”.

My Mother Liked to Play Games
I was sitting at the kitchen table in our kitchen playing a game of cards. I was playing Spider. Spider has many ways to play all with different levels of difficulty. The most difficult way to play is two full decks of cards. You can adjust the difficulty by removing suits. I was playing with all four suits and had never come close to winning.

The Lesson
All the children were born with a talent, some you noticed right away. The hungry newborn that would start to lift off their bassinet in the hospital. The first laugh that made the plants suddenly start swaying as if there were a wind blowing through the room. Others it took much longer to see, the hungry toddler who pointed at the cookie and it floated towards him on unseen hands, or the child on the first day of school who was nervous and a whole classroom of kids flocked around in a circle to comfort and ease the anxiety.
