Web of Deceit
Detective Frank Thompson stood in the dimly lit room, his eyes scanning the scene for any clue that could unravel the mystery before him. The air was thick with tension as he inspected the intricate web of deceit that had been spun. Shock them in 2023
it's been almost two years since I first read it and still the main idea from the book the courage to be disliked by Ichiro kishimi deeply resonates with me the idea that being happy is essentially dependent upon the courage to be disliked in a first it might not seem like the two you know would ever be related happiness and being disliked an odd pair maybe even uh seemingly counter-intuitive Until you realize that happiness comes from such a personal authentic place that allowing the expectations of others to chart your course means that you'd probably never arrive there you have to do what's best for you and doing what's best for you is going to create a divide somewhere why because everything creates a divide everything is subjective I knew I wanted to dive into this topic but wasn't sure the best way to do it so the other morning I was uh trying to think of like an objective truth something that no one could disagree with was sitting on my balcony and pointed up towards this guy thought let's start there simple as it gets harder refute that right I am pointing up and I remembered we're floating on a globe a giant sphere there is no up up is perspective everything is perspective what's the difference between one and two some might say it's one but technically there's Infinity between one and two you can have infinite decimals one point nine nine nine nine goes on forever right point being there's subjectivity when we drill down into even the seemingly obvious truth now the value here is not to go running around you know arguing with everyone that there's Infinity between one and two you know there are certain uh aspects of society that we must adhere to otherwise we couldn't function together right but it's simply to show that uh you following the path you believe is right for you cannot be rightfully assessed by someone else it's a place of trust in your internal personal judgment and when people don't understand your Infinity that doesn't mean it's wrong and by the way I don't have blinders on to the fact that it's hard to do in many ways it goes right up against our lizard brain biological wiring right we're fitting in equates to survival and ostracization becomes a death sentence but we are fortunately beyond that it's in our interest now and in fact I think the courage to be disliked is a critical lifelong journey I'm better at this than I was 10 years ago no question but do I still have a ways to go absolutely there are still things I'm working on every day to let go of I remember reading in Jefferson's biography about how it was so hard for him to be demonized in the press all the time that it almost dissuaded him from jumping back into politics before his presidential run and being attacked is a hard thing But ultimately he led his beliefs and personal values drive him his ambition in a lot of ways and came to see the scrutiny as a cost decided it was worth the price or like I use this all the time take one of the biggest pop stars of our day say Justin Bieber you look at what people are saying about him in the comments of his video a lot of it's wonderful some of it's great sure but some of it's awful and that's just the price of anyone putting themselves out there and again you think of an inverse scenario imagine if you didn't imagine if he limited himself or didn't dive fully into what he does because he knew some folks out there would have some bad things to say now we are for the most part neither famous politicians nor pop stars but our worlds contain the same elements at different scale there are things we're all scared to do or say because of how it will be received there are parts of ourselves that we repress because we don't know what the feedback will be we're all scared to fail in some capacity because of how it will look or what others will say about it which is why being disliked is courageous as Aristotle has said the only way to avoid criticism is to do nothing to say nothing and be nothing the opposite of being fully truly yourself is becoming the manifestation of that quote it's never pushing yourself never seeing what you're capable of never exploring or executing on your dreams your ambitions now this is speculation but if I were a Gambling Man I'd Place everything I own on the idea that when we're old looking back on our lives we'll spend less time thinking about who criticized us or disagreed with us than how we spent our days and who we shared them with did we live in a way that made us happy that was meaningful because on a sphere everyone believes they are pointing up but in actuality none of us are we're all merely navigating the subjective Universe behind our eyes so why not truly explore why not capture the magic out there before The Hourglass runs out of sand it's hard sometimes it hurts it takes all we have it requires courage but I think we'll all come to find that the decision to live fully in our authenticity regardless of whether others agree disagreed or were indifferent was the best decision that we ever made sometimes all we need is a reset a new beginning Fresh Start a transformed perspective do you remember those pictures that used to make their way around from time to time and looked pretty obvious at first glance right but if you really examined it you would see that the picture of the young woman or whatever it was it was also an older woman right differing based on how you looked at the lines and depending on who was looking they might have a proclivity towards seeing one or the other but when made aware of the picture's Duality they could always see both okay and there's something to this this idea is something we should lean on because I'll tell you what sometimes our natural proclivity is to see the thing that's not helpful the first thing we see is is an excuse or self-pity the first thing we see is a list of insecurities or doubts we have to remember to take a step back and look again to examine harder it's amazing how differently things evolve when you make a point to see their value for example let's say someone has something you want something you wished was yours and it may be your default is you know you are less than your life is not what it should be but if you step back and looked again you would see a few things one we're all running different races right you're competing against you not anyone else two think about everything you do have that someone else would give anything for and three if you truly do want that thing how about applauding yourself for having goals for having desires for wanting to push the boundaries of life now the question is can you seek to truly understand what that desire is and map out you know your path to to bring it into existence this is nothing but an opportunity right and how could it be anything else life's challenges lives losses they are wins they contain within them the DNA to create change to progress but one must be able to move beyond the instinct to label it a problem or a net negative there are and will always be winds where you choose to see winds as I've heard Tony Robbins mention on many occasions this isn't closing your eyes and saying there are no weeds there are no weeds there are no weeds when your garden is full of them no it's understanding a simple truth you'll never leverage value that you don't believe is there seeing it is always step one because it gives you a foundation to stand on as you build it's picking up the pen and starting that next chapter in your world view if you lose money how would one react to I can't believe it's gone things will never be the same my life is over versus okay obviously I learned how to acquire it in the first place time to do it again I'm Wiser I'm more aware and life is abundant the person that wakes up thinking the former would probably have a hard time getting out of bed the person telling herself the Second Story would be motivated to go make things happen her worldview has incentivized her that's why thoughts become things how we think directly translates into how we Act in our daily actions become our reality look we've all found ourselves in situations where we struggle to see the good in things where life knocks us down and the opportunity seems to hide itself but that's exactly what it's doing hiding itself it is there it's always there it's there when you've lost something it's there when you've taken a wrong turn you get the point and I'm going to differentiate here between simple and easy because the idea of stopping and forcing yourself to find the positive it's simple but it's not easy it's oftentimes not the natural thing to do but if you can ask that of yourself you will find the wins that others walk right by you'll be the change you want in yourself because the outside world will act as the toolbox to make that happen remember we often can't control what the world gives us but we can always control what we do about it and that ability is what I believe separates human beings and their level of growth success and achievement right next time you find yourself down and out sure do your thing handle it how you must but don't forget that Golden Rule it's not what you look at it's what you see and when you examine the world around you point to one however small value add that will pick you up get you back on your feet and move you forward to that more ideal reality can life change in a day [Music] well what if we made today a day of action of being decisive of promising ourselves that our goal or objective is to make a single move however small what if today action is King and we live by the notion that whether the result of our courage is good or bad whether it's the result we hoped for the one that we didn't at least now we have something to work off of and that means we've moved Beyond where we started What If Today We Live by the notion that a vision can change our lives but a vision without that small step is powerless and today we take that small step it's easy to forget how good progress feels how incredible it is to know that we're moving towards something meaningful in our lives [Music] something that we chose that we're building we had the courage to break life down so that piece by piece we could build it back up we are our happiest when we are progressing were designed to map out the unknown unexplored territory to make it our own we're not just flesh and Bone but Travelers with god-like capability seeing that which is not yet there and with an idea and courage there's nothing we can't do and that's why when we stop seeing infinite opportunity when we pretend that settling is okay the status quo is enough we know deep down in our souls that something's missing we need the next door to unlock so today let's find just one door that we can open remind yourself of the shock wave that goes through your system when inspiration guides an idea and progress turns that idea into reality because momentum connects every aspect of life not hitting this news button can mean seeing the sunrise which can mean you read three pages in a book you wouldn't have read which could mean your day improves which could mean you make a call that you've been meaning to make which could mean a dozen Wheels start turning not because you did everything but because you did one thing today can be the day that changes your life and you don't even need the miraculous to make that happen you just need to push back against the normalcy of your everyday create little microcosms of Chaos contain you can understand make your own and then stack on top of each other today you treat that little voice of uneasiness or nervousness in your stomach as assurance that the path before you is the right one remember that almost all decisions are reversible but that a decision at least puts you somewhere right or wrong it moves you along and shows you more of Life the things the people the places you've never seen before and the only bad decision is no decision some folks never moved towards meaning towards the things that they want in well their entire lifetime because they didn't realize it wasn't an earthquake they needed to shake the old world at its foundation they needed to make one decision one decision that might be wrong but at the very least would reassure them that wrong decisions aren't fatal a decision allows you to remap a new reality and take another step and another and another you can change your life today by picking your Arena and simply stepping into it [Music] you don't need to be the best or the greatest or the most Innovative know that's for another day today if you want to change your life open the door and step in you'll be amazed at what transpires [Music] someday the things that you currently don't understand will make sense someday the big things you're dealing with won't seem so big anymore someday the doubts you have about yourself will be revealed as false someday you'll see that the things you worry about didn't matter at all someday you'll see that the road before you wasn't something you had to walk flawlessly but rather something you had to trust and believe in someday you'll look in the mirror and see that you had it in you the entire time that there was nothing you needed or should have been hoping for yes someday someday that will all be true but what about some days from the past I remember years ago thinking someday I would venture out into the world someday I'd speak my mind someday I would start my own business I would surround myself with people who believed in what I believe someday I'd make a little more money have a little more time to do what I love someday I'd have all that and as I look around I realize it looks a lot like someday but guess what as we grow so do our Sundays it's a Chase That Never Ends there's always something more there's always something bigger and better and the problem is not the ambition the problem is forgetting that in so many ways you've dreamed of being where you stand right now you have arrived you're not the same person that 10 years ago was throwing some days out into the universe no you have grown you have learned you have evolved [Music] why does this matter it matters because without acknowledging how far you've come you cannot acquire the strength needed to go where you must go when you don't feel good enough it's often because you haven't looked over your shoulder and opened your eyes the evidence is right there it's hiding in plain sight there's proof that you've been there that you've faced demons and conquered them endured your battles and overcame you did that and at one point not that long ago you couldn't say that you had you weren't yet that person but things are different now what you have today was once only that hopeful someday it was a fleeting thought it had no merit and no value yet you brought it to life look what you've done understand how far you've come how you ran when you could you walked when it was possible you crawled when you had to and continued on to arrive at a someday that is right now you my friend are a maker of things unseen an architect of tomorrow's and some days so don't you dare don't you ever entertain the delusion that this gift suddenly stops now suddenly the burden is too much the mountain is too tall no what you do is overcome that is who you are you've done it for you you've done it for the ones you love and in some cases the ones who didn't even understand but you kept going marching through the fires of Hell to turn some days into right now and I get did the road before you is uncertain there's no way to know exactly how life will unfold but that's besides the point a bird can predict every gust of wind it's going to encounter it spreads its wings takes off and adapts because it can because it always has because that's what it does I'm not advocating that you should have all the answers no I'm suggesting that you trust yourself to find them to move forward into the haze that surrounds you to make sense of the seemingly illogical bring about reality from the Make-Believe someday you will have what you're aiming for but Here's to Never Letting a today go by without realizing that you are always living out us someday from your past you are always arriving and leaving simultaneously the accomplished and the students crossing a Finish Line and on the starting block with another Race Around the Corner another chance to stretch your legs and reach for the heavens if you ever forget that [Music] you find it within yourself to look over your shoulder to remember what you once asked for and to appreciate the journey that you have undertaken foreign now onward you go you have more some days to bring to life [Music] [Music] what exactly are you afraid of [Music] what's holding you back is the giant rock you inhabit spins to the universe a speck in a galaxy of stars it's easy to look out and see the vastness of the world around you and forget entirely about the strength that you possess forget entirely that the mind's capacity is as infinite as those same Stars surround you I don't think it's that we definitively choose to sell ourselves short I think we simply lose sight of the fact that we have a say in the matter to begin with our fears keep us wishing our insecurities keep us hoping we stay standing still when we should be moving forward but truth be told our pain comes from not doing but wishing that we did it's no coincidence that the more we fail the more we realize life is a game that expands as we push the power of making mistakes isn't the mistake itself it's that when we get back up and brush ourselves off our cognitive mapping of the world changes we see that we can step out a little further our very definition of what's possible expands and I believe that's what courage is the willingness to step into that chaos of life knowing that each time you find the strength to push forward you are restructuring your reality the resources are there the tools are there the opportunity is there how crazy is the fact that we just need to convince ourselves that more is worth it that the difficulty of short-term vulnerability isn't an enemy the very ticket required for admission to the show and so I ask again what are you afraid of falling because you will rise and you will rise stronger than you ever were is it criticism because one people are so focused on their own Endeavors that they look up way less than we think they do and two other than the small group you surround yourself with why would you care is it pride because building things of significance requires starting on the ground floor and there's no shame but honor in breaking down to build up and when I look at my life in terms of chapters right childhood High School College 20s 30s the things that were my biggest concerns during each chapter are now laughable and maybe just maybe if I saw that I could have lived a little free or been a little Bolder what if we were to get ahead of that learning curve what if we understood that life is beautiful and flexible and exciting and what if we understood that now instead of looking at this chapter 15 years down the road and chuckling to ourselves for not having the courage to have made the leap taking the chance to have moved out into an unknown we cannot physically see that which doesn't exist which is why it's so important that we know we are the architects that the fear pulsing through our veins is indicating that we are building that we are choosing to step into a world that will give more if we find the courage to ask [Music] so as this giant rock you inhabit spins through the universe the speck in a galaxy of start perhaps each little light up there exists not to remind you how small you are but to remind you that those same elements exist within you to show you that the fire of a Million Suns sits in your soul beats in your chest waits for your signal now so what are you afraid of [Music] the little e on the car dashboard reminds me that I'm pointed East [Music] as I sit at the red light perpendicular to Ocean ABS staring out at the water this is it this is as far as I can go there are no more streets or towns or cities there can't be any more stops along the way just miles and miles of ocean [Music] it's interesting for me to think about all the changes I've made up to now growing up outside of Los Angeles on the opposite Coast relocating again and again sometimes very targeted methodical moves sometimes just for the sake of change but always moving always going there's a saying that wherever you go you take yourself with you right you can change this scenario circumstances the surroundings But ultimately you can never outrun yourself you are accompanying you on whatever Journey awaits and it's often not until you run out of real estate until there's no more Road or options that you're forced to look in the mirror and acknowledge that it is you who must change it's you who must evolve and become that person that you need you to become and that can be a scary thing after all anyone can get in a car and head east anyone can point the compass away from the chaos of now move away from their demons but how many of us can find this strength to look those demons in the eye how many of us can make ourselves bigger than what attempts to weigh us down all of us can but how many of us do are we running to something or from something because there is a difference in that difference is not small [Music] one of my favorite speakers Jim Rohn when referencing our Journeys through life our push to make more of ourselves he essentially said it's not what you get at the other end [Music] it's who you become along the way [Music] and I think like everyone I've forgotten that from time to time over the years forgotten that value is not simply in going but in becoming in the courageous little steps that accumulate over time forgotten that the external world might Inspire or excite that change might invigorate the soul that the road untraveled might remind me of life's Beauty but these externalities are only as valuable as you allow them to be there are only opportunities if you decide them to be so change inspired but will you let it inspire you to do that thing you know you need to do but are terrified of doing and that road it might remind you of life's Beauty but will you let that reminder be your invitation to share your own Beauty with the world whatever that means for you can you be that vulnerable can you take that leap in the story of your becoming see it is incredibly easy to look out at the world and pinpoint its flaw all those little problems and Imperfections they tend to jump out at us but can you identify what you yourself need can you be courageous enough to ask those questions of yourself what matters to me what does a meaningful life look like to me where am I falling short that is a conversation that needs to be had and it needs to be had often otherwise we will drive and drive and drive until we hit water in our Force to ask that question because it's interesting that when we don't pause and make the changes that need to be made life has a way of ensuring that we do but when it's mandated by life it tends to be a lot Messier a lot more chaotic at least then when we make the decision ourselves but either way we cannot run forever either way we must step into a new pair of shoes and learn to walk confidently with them into the night [Music] there are plenty of little mantras floating around out there little pieces of advice and perhaps it's best for us to weigh them each individually see what meets our needs and fits our criteria after all life is not one size fits all one of my favorite among these is to do one single thing that scares you every day and I'll tell you why because when we become conditioned turning our backs on all the uncomfortable things in life we our prospects of a better tomorrow it's synonymous with the seed refusing water saying no to the very thing it needs most and what should be noted here one of the reasons it's so dangerous is that saying no is incredibly subtle it's not some big event or explosion there's no fireworks show that occurs every time you walk away from what you need no it goes unnoticed and again one of the greatest challenges is quantifying that which we don't do how do you measure that thing you walked away from well unfortunately you can't you can't at least until you're staring out at the Atlantic with Nowhere to Run no more escaping on the agenda you don't know until you're forced to pick the pieces up and make something of them [Music] then I say this so that hopefully it can ignite that spark in your soul that you need most whether you previously recognized it or not I say this to remind you how much bigger you are than your problems how you have the ability to transform all that exists around you when you transform yourself be associated with how we see ourselves and I believe this to be true at both the personal and the societal levels anyone can look in the mirror and see the past where they've gone wrong how inadequate and ill-prepared they are but the courage to look in the mirror and see strength to both identify and understand one's shortcomings but know that you have the power to do something about it to know that the times you fell or didn't make the cut they don't indicate that the Endeavor was all for nod or unequivocally wrong no there is so much good tied into your Pursuit so much Beauty and courage ingrained in your soul but imagine a life where you no longer run from the gaps but close them imagine finding it in yourself to begin that hero's journey in where you used to run to protect yourself now you take the offensive to grow yourself where do you used to avoid the possibility of failure now you chase the possibility of victory you can have that if you want to you can be that if you choose to and sure you may never be able to outrun yourself but you can always adapt yourself to be that person you always needed you to be sometimes we just need the reminder that we are strong enough we do have what it takes and that the thing that hurts us most in the short term not only saves us pain in the long term but it becomes what we live for it is where we find our meaning and so perhaps this ocean before me is not there to remind me of my constraints that I have no Road left but a reminder of just how often we measure using the wrong metrics perhaps I needed to see again that it's not where I end up but who I become along the way internal self steps into the shoes it's been too intimidated to wear that when the world within becomes the beacon you need it to be the roads and the stops along the way they matter a little bit less than the eyes that process it all that decide what it means how it will be utilized in The Game of Life so yes the little e on e on car dashboard it says that I'm pointed East but as I sit at this red light perpendicular to Ocean ABS staring out at the water I know this is only the beginning [Music] foreign versus you with all the complexity all the obstacles out there why are you your greatest opponent well to put it simply because all those obstacles and all that complexity still can't tell you no they can't say enough is enough they can't look back at you and say let's just settle for what we have now you know only you can do that the world may create the landscape it may construct a Terrain and those obstacles but you are the sole decider on where along the way you stop you decide how far you want to go and how much you are willing to endure when it comes to your advancement or limitation you are in the drivers [Music] I just picked up a copy of Will Smith's recent book and one of the ideas that stood out to me was resilience and this part in the book it's actually kind of uncomfortable to get through but incredibly powerful he's talking about his childhood and the polarity of his father's personality a man who would do anything to provide for his family he took pride in that and saw it as his primary responsibility but simultaneously was their greatest source of pain [Music] and he mentions his father you know hitting his mother from time to time in one particular example struck his mother in the face so hard that it knocked her on the floor and as she stood back up she said something along the lines of you can hit me but you can't hurt me and that was the first time will understood as the child the difference between uh what the outside world inflicts upon us than how we choose to react to that occurrence that understanding is power that's why you are the author of your story in the sense that every single thing dropped at your feet every situation every occurrence they come with an implicit question attached a question that you and only you are responsible for answering the question is what does this mean and how you respond to that question determines whether you go left or right at that metaphorical fork in the Rope is the occurrence detract from your Ambitions or is it a multiplier does it confirm your doubts and insecurities or is it your reason to rise to the occasion an opportunity to stretch to evolve that's a gift that's an invite not some sort of divine punishment but the challenge is removing the layers until you arrive at the value and it's hard but you get there by saying yes you get there by choosing to see the value and here's a quick example my favorite thing about Athletics which was for me a ton of running now I throw more interval training in there but the same Concepts apply it's a chance to remind myself that I don't negotiate with my weakness I don't give myself an opportunity to rationalize with the voice that wants me to quit that question that fork in the road I answered it I charted its course before the workout started knowing this is going to be uncomfortable at times but it's where I need to go there will be no more thinking from here on out so today's workout for example switching deadlifts burpees to squats to core you don't think you see the next requirement the next task and you simply say yes you don't need your mind for this in fact you go before your mind even knows where it's going because that dotted line has already been signed and that was the Breakthrough for me when you separate what you have to do with the hurt associated with doing that thing you free yourself after all what's there to hold you back if you can't talk yourself out of doing things see we tend to think our greatest adversity is the pain or the confusion or the unknown but it's like no those are the byproducts of doing anything of significance the adversary is the voice that begs you to slow down because of those things and if you can figure out in your own life how to create space between the two how to separate the task and the discomfort often brought about by the task there's nothing that we'll ever be able to slow you down and look I'm not saying that you walk around without ever utilizing the power of that brilliant mind you possess no one's ability to think is everything but what I am saying is there is a time to shut it off there is a time in which to avoid overthinking we simplify Action Reaction one more mile okay end of story one minute of jump squats next Roger that period it's taking the emotion out of the process refusing to leave the door cracked for the inner dialogue that says hey maybe you don't do this maybe you slow down are you sure you can handle what's next no all of that is tuned out it's assignment go next go next go you know this is the right thing you did your thinking before grabbing the sword shield and stepping into the arena now guess what it's Instinct it's doing what has to be done and what has to be done first and look you didn't have to accept that you didn't have to step in you could have stayed home but somewhere along the way you looked in the mirror and said the difficult path is the one with the value and now here you are face to face with hungry lions clashing swords with your adversaries there's no turning back now now is when you parse out pain from the objective the pain is now part of the audio it's not with you or in you it's watching from above as you do what you came here to do so yes those swords Clash but the eyes remain focused on what's ahead and yes those Lions Roar but that's background noise when you simplify your world into objective and action objective action there is time for nothing but forward progress and sometimes that is all that is required of us in the face of adversity in the face of pain self-doubt in the face of discomfort can you break your world down into nothing but one single step forward one more set one more rep one more Session One More attempt just one more no rocket science no negotiation there's nothing to figure out here it's walking the path before you it's the discipline to carry on it's one more swing of the ax audience or no audience lions or no Lions you are bound to the universe at your feet and that simplified concentration is why you will succeed [Music] thank you Einstein said imagination is more important than knowledge for knowledge is limited whereas imagination Embraces the entire world stimulating progress giving birth to evolution there's a distinct difference between today and tomorrow the real and the so-called imagined one has already been created and the other is in desperate need of a creator and see until we learn that we can be proactive in this regard imagination doesn't mean much it's just a car without wheels plane without wings it's more of an escape than a bridge to something better but once we realize how much control we have over tomorrow we become in our own right creators not just waiting to read and react to stories already written and handed down to us but possessing this incredible ability to pick up a pen and craft something new become agents of change I recently came across an interesting article had some info that that made me think basically it said if you take some domesticated animals like pigs or chickens and you place them back into the wild some of their previously repressed biological Tendencies come right back into play so for example chickens change their breathing habits how they take care of their eggs pigs regrow their hair and that Mane going down their back and these old repressed kind of Hidden Away jeans are re-selected for again over time and the Animals begin to reacclimate as though that potential was never lost it just needed to immerse itself in the right environment and it's like well if we view ourselves in that same light now we might ask what if we positioned ourselves to gravitate towards an environment that was best for us what if I imagined a world not exactly like today but one better conducive to me being me a world where I'm set up to thrive we're sure there will be bumps and bruises and losses and lessons along the way but where I'm immersed in a journey towards a destination that excites me that lights me up can I find the courage to not only imagine that finish line but also act accordingly move towards it [Music] you know I always say the hardest thing to do is to recreate outcomes that look different from the current moment because while the current moment is all we know it's all anybody knows and by the way it's all anybody wants to know right until something new is placed right in front of them at their feet until proof exists changing your life or the lives of those around you means you have to literally look at the road before you and see outcomes that are not there then you have to believe in those outcomes you have to drive towards those outcomes have conviction in your ability to overcome obstacles on your way to those outcomes truth be told chasing your imagination is simultaneously one of the greatest burdens one can endure as well as the key to that which makes life worth living [Music] there's something about being human [Music] that pushes us towards hope towards the possibility of a tomorrow better than today and that's not to say don't be grateful it's not saying don't see the beauty around you or appreciate the world you live in but I believe we're here to take that Torch from yesterday and move it one step forward maybe it's in our own lives a small step forward in our careers a relationship or our health maybe it's improving the lives of those around us family friends maybe it's something larger societal whatever it is I'm convinced that true meaning in life is finding the courage to push one foot further down the path of possibility to add one step to that ascending staircase knowing that it will allow us to someday look back on today and be proud of what we faced and overcame and as I wake up and and I look around I think to myself that has to mean cherishing the ideas in our heads it has to mean we understand the power of our instincts of our beliefs of Hope it means understanding that it justifies all the hardship that comes with taking those ideas and giving them life because everything around us was built with the courage to take little nothings and make them something [Music] and when we're lost or feel alone or for one reason or another forget that we need to remember that right now is not forever it can't be it's a stepping stone to whatever you decide tomorrow is and that goal isn't perfection you don't need all the answers you need the courage to take one little step in a New Direction to write just one sentence on a brand new page because that imagination is not fiction it's not the Delta between the possible or impossible it's not there to entertain it's there because it's your map and you may look at that map and think to yourself you're lost that it's unclear that the directions well they're incompleted best but what I can promise you is the pursuit of this world you've imagined it will bring you greater satisfaction than anything else could it will remind you why you're here and show you that life isn't supposed to be easy while helping you appreciate it for being that way to your imagination is your path to that ideal state where you can Thrive be you push your boundaries and spread your wings don't ever let the current state of today convince you that your hopes and your dreams for tomorrow are too big that you've missed the Mark or stepped out of the line in a world of reaction be one of the few who looks in the mirror and decides to live life proactively take initiative be one of the few who stands wholeheartedly behind that world they've imagined
