Feed Me Seymour
I was raised with horses Shiloh, Cody, Vicky, Cash, Wrangler, Dancer, and others... whose names I can't recall. Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail our three adorable rabbits were a highlight in my pet memories. Our first dog Ben, an English Black Labrador, a rescue dog via my aunt Dorothy, patiently dealt with three children who'd never been allowed an "indoor pet". We would bury our faces into him. He would let our kittens sleep on his back. He would let three children cry into his fur. Ben was our clock tower, holding tall and strong for us. Ben allowed tugging, teasing, Madonna True Blue lyrics sung into his ears. We loved him best we could. Coming home from Amanda's choir performances, we were allowed a not-so-common treat, an ice cream cone from Coney Island Boardwalk in Conifer, Colorado. Coney Island is a kid's dream restaurant delight, a GIANT hot dog building, the dog is splattered with green relish and yellow mustard. Patrons stand in line for dogs and soft-serve ice cream that towers atop a sugar cone. I could never finish my ice cream cone on those drives back from choir concerts; nor did I want to. As we stepped out of the car Ben and I knew the deal; I would eat only one bite of the cone and lovingly hand him the rest.

Eat Like a Local in Mammoth
In June 2021 I drove to Mammoth, California a geologist's dream playground, located in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Not only was I there to partake in Mother Earth's expansive beauty (for my article on Mammoth Hikes click here) but to also visit a LOCAL! Below is the list of four MUST-VISIT establishments my tastebuds happily experienced during my two-day stay. The vibe at each restaurant gives you a sense of the town. The owners, staff, and local clientele are kind and want to interact with you. They enjoy hearing where you are from, what you are reading, and who you are. They love talking about their town and the geographic history behind it. The food is GREAT. The list below will fulfill all cravings for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks - Bon Appetit!

Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-Tail
Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-Tail In February, during my week off of work, I took one day to care for myself through deep cleaning my home. First, I deep cleaned the refrigerator. As I took the almost empty pepperoncini’s out and set them next to the Stonewall mustard, and Primal Kitchen ketchup, I thought of how my jeans no longer dug into my belly; from cutting out the additional sugars corporations sneak into their products. The Tahini jar was almost full. I was trying to keep up with YouTube recipes, (Pick Up Limes can’t be beaten); but the Tahini jar is jealous of the hot sauce and salad dressings used for marinades, which mockingly stand half-empty next to it. Embarrassingly, I admit to touching the refrigerator door handle and feeling something sticky... what monstrous eve had I grabbed the handle with...peanut butter? olive oil? honey? It was probably raw unfiltered honey. I was grabbing lemon for my tea! Suddenly the stickiness doesn’t mysteriously freak me out. I wiped clean the handle with OnGuard disinfectant; what a brand name eh?

Facial Surgery Fanclub?
I finished the novel, If I Had Your Face by Frances Cha, learning about girls in Korea who alter their eyelids and more for societal normed beauty. A week later, I found myself puffy-eyed, with a swollen face, standing in a Santa Cruz hotel bathroom, laughing at my reflection in the mirror.

Natures Memories ~B O Ḵ Ë
Striking gold while scrolling Instagram is exactly the feeling I had when finding B O Ḵ Ë. Immediately I sent his artistry to all the music heads I know. When B O Ḵ Ë sent me an album release announcement, I stopped what I was doing, right-that-second knowing I was about to embark on a wonderful journey of sound.
