JUST DO IT-I DID/Part 3
April 17th, 2017, at the age of 45 college life began. I was nervous, lost, and excited at the same time. Days after completing my application to try, and get accepted to this particular university. My admissions counselor gave me sound advice and steps on how to get started. Not to venture off the topic, but I graduated from high school in 1990. The only other classes taken between 1990 and 2017 were computer classes. In 2001 after moving back to East Texas Computer Literacy Training was being offered. I honestly didn’t know anything about operating a computer.

Just Do It-I DID/PART 2
The home-health clients that I worked with required specific assistance. There was cleaning, cooking and shopping. Before when I said there were similarities between the two. I must clarify that in my employment only the cleaning possibly was the same. Thinking back nursing facilities had housekeepers. So; therefore, I only had to make beds, gather any dirty linen, keep their belongings and furniture organized. Moving forward I continued to work as a certified nurse’s assistant for a while. While still being employed as a home health aide. At one point my certification expired, in 2010 I attended nurse aide classes again, and achieved that certification for the second time.

JUST DO IT- I DID
For the longest, I had wanted to go to school to earn a degree in Health Service Management. It has been a long-time goal of mine for years. My answer would be to start as a nurse assistant. After graduating from high school, my purpose in life began. I always had a passion for helping others. So, it was just natural to start a career in the Healthcare Field. I remember starting my classes to try and become a certified nurse assistant. I had no idea what to expect on that journey of my life. It was new and exciting to continue learning and having my first job within that field. After attending elementary, middle, junior, and high school, my educational journey did not end there. Sometimes in life depending, on the job or position, you will most likely need some certification.
