The Fear of Love
I will never tell him this, but I’m scared. Scared that one day he will change his mind. Scared that one day I won’t be enough. Scared that one day he will raise his hand to me and it won’t be for a hive five or a hug. It is not because he scares me. Just because I’ve grown used to being the issue, to have to be taught a lesson or put in my place. I was told that no matter what I would always be the problem.

The Unprotected
The people who were supposed to protect me in life were the ones I feared the most. So when I say I need some time to trust, know that it’s not you, it’s me. I've been let down more times than I can count by the people who “love” me. I’ve been told to smile in public but behind closed doors, I sobbed. I was number one in their hearts, at least to the family but public enemy number one once I got home.
