My Promise to You
I promise to build a home with you. I promise to buy enough cute cushions that it looks like our home, but not so many that you can't sit down. I promise I will always have a blanket to wrap you in when you need it. I promise to hold your hand when I force you to watch horror films, even when you swear you just don't like them because of the cheap script writing. I promise to never lose my temper with you when things get rough - it's me and you against the problem, not me and you against each other. I promise to only ever buy ice cream that we both like (or just two pints of ice cream).I promise to take you to so many new places. I promise to stroke so many new animals with you. I promise to try so many new things with you. I promise to try SO MUCH new food with you (as long as you can occasionally put up with me moaning about feeling fat afterwards). I promise to kiss every cut and bruise the world gives you. I promise that my shoulder will always be there to cry on. I promise that my heart will always light up when I see your face again. I promise to always own up to my mistakes. I promise to be patient, because sometimes things take time. I promise to show you off whenever I can, even when you aren't around to see it. I promise to never let your birthday go uncelebrated. I promise that your compliments are the kindest words I ever have and ever will hear. I promise to kiss you every night before we go to sleep. I promise to kiss you every morning when we wake up. I promise to treat you as often as I can. I promise to keep a tidy home, even if my current bedroom says otherwise. I promise to stay on my side of the bed when my body feels like an actual furnace. I promise to always keep southern comfort in stock. I promise to make you smile every little moment that I can. I promise that when it feels like you are completely alone, you will always have me fighting your corner.
