Chapter 17
I just turned seventeen and still worked at McDonald's after school. Being a junior in high school was better than being a freshman and it had its perks. I got to drive everywhere along with CO-OP which meant that I got to leave school after half a day. We had just switched to college block classes, so we only had four classes a day. I wasn't having the time of my life, but things were good.

Christmas Phone
It was Christmas Day. The tree was decorated with lights, ornaments, and tensil. Four stockings hung above the fireplace with their names on them. Colored lights and blow-up characters illuminated the outside of the house. Snow covered the rooftops in the neighborhood. The sunlight glared off the snow on the ground.

The Mystery Box
Sara lived alone in a one-bedroom apartment with her two cats, Princess-a Blue Russian, and Scarface-a Tuxedo. Since it was Saturday, she took a lazy day for herself. She laid on the couch and was watching Lifetime curled up in a tan blanket while both of her cats rested on her. She dozed off for a few minutes.

Weekend Getaway
"We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin." She sighed, remembering the last time that she saw Issac alive. "It was so cold that our fingers nearly froze in our gloves. We were wearing two pair of pants, snow boots, and thick fur coats." Phoebe looked around her therapist's office and stared at the Peace Lily on her desk. It was growing out of a vase full of water, with a betta fish swimming around in the vase. For a moment, she thought about how the fish must feel in that vase, not being able to swim outside of it. She turned back to Sandy and continued her story. "He wanted to ride the snow mobile, but I refused and went inside by the fireplace to warm up." Tears started to form in the corners of her eyes. "I should have made him stay with me, but he was stubborn and always done what he wanted to do."

Lucy
A female, brindle, stray Pitbull dog was being fed by all the locals. Daily she walked the streets and made her rounds. Most of the locals had nick-named her Lucy. At night, she would sleep by the Snoball shop near the beach, under the awning. She was a very friendly and likable dog.
