Simply The Best
When I got married, I told my husband I never wanted to fall into the trap of sitcom humour. He asked what I meant. I said that I was referring to the over done cheap shots that spouses often take at one another for a laugh on sitcoms. I grew up in the era of laugh tracks and Tim the Tool Man Taylor. There were some gems in the era as well, but the older I got, the less I wanted to spend 30 minutes of my time watching people make fun of one another in such a predictable manner.

As Winter Goes to Sleep
While spring is not my favourite season (in fact, it may come in last place), it is my favourite transition of seasons. Winter starts out every time with fresh snow underfoot. A comfort. The warmth of furnaced rooms, hoar frost. The way cheeks get cold to the touch, but our bodies seem happy, up for the challenge.

Unchosen
The first part is a mystery. I was there, but the memories are inaccessible, like a dream I know I had but can’t remember. We are not built to remember those months in the womb, that first explosion of light and the beautiful warmth of our mother’s body when we are placed upon her chest. Those memories we don’t get to keep, but they are all I have of her, so I imagine them.
