Pride Month
The Symbol The rainbow colored symbolic flag of the pride month was created by Gilbert baker, an artist, in the year 1978. It has been used as a symbol of LGBTQ month since then. An interesting fact about this symbol is that every color has its own meaning. In the renowned 6-color flag of the pride month, red is symbolic of life, orange is representative of healing, yellow is sunshine, green is nature, blue represents harmony and purple is spirit. In the original eight-color flag, hot pink was included to represent sex and turquoise to represent magic/art. There have also been a lot of rejigs made to the flag of the pride such as when black was included to protest Black lives matter and brown to symbolise inclusivity but the final 6 have stood the test of time.
