Hunters Series - Burn Part Nine
The drive to Salt Lake felt so slow, like we were going through mud and it was clinging to the tires. I thought about everything I’d been through. Losing my dad, losing my soul and dealing with a demon all at once. I didn’t know how much more I could really handle. The thing is I had to handle it all even if I didn’t think I could.

Hunters Series - Burn Part Eight
We pulled up to the Boulder Station casino and looked around for a minute. It was a little run down and was way off the strip. C.J. parked the car in a spot close to the casino so we had a good view of the front entrance.

Hunters Series - Part Seven
The air was hot and dry. It was one of those dry heat days when you were thankful that it wasn’t any wetter out. I walked across the dusty road towards the hotel that I needed to get too. There was no one around and not a person to tell me that I was in the wrong place. My eyes shifted to the side street catching a figure walking towards me. He was tall with long blonde hair and I knew right then what it was that was coming towards me. I swallowed hard and glanced back at the hotel. Another figure was there. It looked like he was yelling to me. I ran as fast as I could for the hotel. Then, I realized who it was that was yelling to me.

Hunters Series - Burn Part Four
I stood up and ran down the stairs at full speed. The blonde demon turned when he heard me and started at me. He moved faster than anyone should and slammed into my body. I hit the wall by the door hard and teetered almost losing my balance. The demon was right there, face twisted in disgust. I shot back to the door. Just a couple feet more and I’d be out. I felt a hand on my leg and I fell forward slamming my face into the floor. The blonde demon pulled me back to the water demon, who smiled wide in approval at me.

Hunters Series - Burn Part Three
Sleep is something that people need and a lot of us love to end our hard days with a little bit of that dark rest, but me, I couldn’t sleep at all. I wondered if it was because of the little dolls staring at me from across the room or if it was just thinking about the things that had happened recently.

I was sitting alone at the café waiting, just waiting. I lingered there far longer than I had ever expected to. The coffee in front of me was no longer steaming hot and I had not even taken a sip of it. This was bad, very bad. He never left me this long before tonight. What if he didn’t come back? Or worse, what if he was dead?
