An Introduction to Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini yoga has been around for thousands of years. It is a combination of Raja yoga, Bhakti yoga, and Shakti yoga, however, westernized Kundalini (made popular by Yogi Bhajan) also includes Tantric yoga and Sikhism. The word Kundalini comes from the sanskrit word for “coiled” or “snake” and it is believed that kundalini is a divine energy coiled around the base of the spine. Through daily practice of mantras, asanas, pranayama, and meditation, one is able to awaken this dormant energy and spiral it up to their crown. Once you are able to do this, you have reached a higher consciousness and, essentially, enlightenment.

How Kundalini Yoga Changed My Life
2022 was going to be my year. I think a lot of people shared that same sentiment. I mean, after these last few years of confusion and turmoil, how could we not? We were desperate for hope, to be hopeful. Unfortunately, it is only March and we have already experienced another variant of COVID, terrible inflation, and an ongoing cruel war. Yet, I remain hopeful; without hope, what is there? I'll admit, I almost lost hope. I began a daily Kundalini practice right at my lowest, though, and it has been my savior.

Gift-Giver's Guide to The Galaxy
"A sky as pure as water bathed the stars and brought them out." – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry In my twenty-five years upon this planet, I have yet to meet anyone who does not gaze up at the inky night sky and immediately feel awe at its beauty, who does not lose their breath at the sight of millions of luminescent specks which, in actuality, are larger than we can fathom. To feel so small yet so enveloped by the night's shining embrace is to truly feel at peace.

Glossy grail
I'm not sure if my perfectly smooth, speckled marble skin seen in the picture above was from the bumbling humidity of summer in New York City or my Glossier skincare products. I think… I'm going to go with Glossier. That definitely sounds better than telling people my secret to great skin is the smoggy heat of New York City in August. Anyway, the summer of 2019 was the best for me, skin-wise at least, and so that's when I began my tumultuous affair with the beauty brand, Glossier.
