Yungblud Third Album, "Yungblud" Kind of Sucks
When Yungblud announced his third album, “Yungblud” I was looking forward to it. I’ve been a fan of him since “Tin Pan Boy”, and liked his previous projects, especially his second album, “Weird”. I was defending that album day after day, night after night, because it is his best album and was one of my favorites of 2020. So of course I checked in on Yungblud's recent album and…it’s not good.
Girls On Top And Step Back Lyrics Is Disappointing
SM recently unveiled their new super female group Girls On Top, GOT, and everyone was so excited for this group. The lineup is insane with Boa, Taeyeon and Hyoyeon of SNSD, Seulgi and Wendy of Red Velvet, and Karina and Winter of Aespa. This group is filled with dancing machines and vocal legends, so everyone was pumped to hear their first song. Then Girls On Top performed their first single at the free online SM concert, and the performance was great until people started paying attention to the lyrics.
G-IDLE 2022 Prediction - The Future Of G-IDLE
Among kpop girl groups, one of the most anticipated comebacks of 2022 is G-IDLE. 2021 was a difficult year for G-IDLE, only having one comeback in January and then Soojin going on hiatus due to bullying allegations. Eventually, in August of 2021, Soojin was kicked out of G-IDLE and Cube basically threw her away. During this year, the other 5 members all focused on their solo projects.
How did Saweetie get a Grammy nomination?
Saweetie is an American rapper and influencer, but many people have been questioning the first part: “rapper.” Now honestly, I didn’t hear about Saweetie until her song “Best Friend” with Doja Cat, which is so damn catchy and Doja Cat carried that song. Maybe I am biased since Doja Cat is one of my favorite artists, but seriously I forgot that Doja Cat is only a featured artist and it’s technically Saweeties’ song. After that though, I found out she’s the singer of the song “My Type”, which is funny because I know that song but I never knew it was Saweetie’s song. Also, I find out she’s been around since 2017 and it made me confused because how the hell did I not know this girl until this year? But then I listened to her other songs…
Twice Eyes Wide Open Album Review
FINALLY! Finally I found the time to talk about this goth tier album. Twice turned 5 years old this year, and wow I wanna cry. They were the first girl group I really fell in love with and seeing them grow from the cute and bubbly teen girls to sophisticated and beautiful women is so surreal. I’m so proud of them, and I’m so proud of their musical growth that is showcased in their second full album, Eyes Wide Open. This is an amazing album and I just want to gather my thoughts and go through each track.
Getting Back Into Melanie Martinez
When Melanie Martinez came out in 2015 with Crybaby, I was instantly fascinated with her. She was a pastel goth girl doing incredible alternative-pop music that felt very soft yet stuck to me like glue. Then her whole concept is following the life of her character Crybaby who deals with subjects like plastic surgery and eating disorders and broken families. Crybaby is a great debut album and was a game-changer for what I call darkpop (I know cringy) that lived in the realm of Lana Del Rey, Marina And The Diamonds, and Halsey of that 2014-2015 era. She was a diamond in the scene full of talent, but for some reason, I just stopped listening to her.
Alexa DECOHERENCE Album Review
Alexa has brought in this cyber-punk world into the kpop scene, and I've been fascinated by her ever since her debut Bomb. From the concept to her confidence, I really have been falling in love with Alexa. Now she has released DECOHERENCE and let's just get right into it.
My Top 10 Albums Of 2020
2020 was a shit year. I'm not going to lie about that, 2020 was awful, from the australian fires to Trump to COVID to the loss of amazing people like Kobe and Chadwick, innocent black people deaths, and proud boys making me scared to go grocery shopping, 2020 was shit...however...the music was amazing.
Ashnikko Halloweenie III: Seven Days Review
Ashnikko is one of my favorite music artists. From her fun personality to her music that can empower anybody that listens to it to her fashion style, I love Ashnikko and everything about her, so I was very excited when she revealed her project Demi-Devil to be released in October... well it was suppose to release in October.
Jazmin Bean "Worldwide Torture" Album Review
So I’m an American, unfortunately, and so when I saw Jazmin’s album dropped I was hella confused. I was like, “Um why you releasing it now, ain’t it suppose to be tomorrow?” But then I remembered they are British, and I’m stupid.
Secret Number “Got That Boom” Review
Secret Number made their first comeback since they debuted with “Got That Boom” along with another song called “Privacy.” From the moment I first listen to “Who Dis?” and laid my eyes on Secret Number, they quickly became one of my favorite girl groups, being in the top 5 of my list. “Who Dis?” was a great debut, showcasing their vocals, rapping, and dancing. Then their song “Holiday” was incredible and so far my favorite song by Secret Number.
