A Drop Among Other Things: Chapter 4
I stayed at Tori's house until three o'clock, right until she had to go to work. She told me that I didn't have to come in and train with her that night, but I insisted. She knew she had to make me feel better, and I didn't want to lose that even though I wouldn't see her for five hours until I went in.

A Drop Among Other Things: Chapter 3

A Drop Among Other Things: Chapter 2
It took me a long time to fill out my application to the coffee shop. When I say a long time, I mean a week. After the door incident in front of "Mr. Handsome," I couldn’t even think about what it would be like working there. I imagined all of the spilt coffee, all of the times I would probably say something stupid to a customer, and the dirty looks I would get from cheerleaders.

A Drop Among Other Things
In the summer, the grass is voluminous and the trees fill with green, the sky the prettiest shade of blue—everything alive and beautiful. But, in the winter, the grass is an ugly color of yellow, the trees bare, the sky grey; the world around me was still and quiet. Everything about the winter somehow seemed to be a good representation on how I felt.
