The Oxford Electric Bell
The Oxford Electric Bell is a relatively obscure fact, but one of the most fascinating. I came across this fact on YouTube one day and have been telling everyone about it ever since. The Oxford Electric Bell was created by Watkins & Hill, a London based manufacturing firm in 1825. During this time "Dry Pile" was invented and is the first form of modern day batteries. Giuseppe Zamboni was the inventor of the dry piles, which had metal disk with different chemicals such as silver or zinc layered between. It is interesting to note that Zamboni as a priest and psychist and it seems the Catholic church did some ground breaking research with their educated priests at the time. It is thought that the Oxford Electric Bell is made with Zamboni plies. They know some of the components that make up the battery, that they can see from the outside. It is known that the batteries are coated in molten Sulphur for insulation. There is no absolute evidence that Zamboni plies are contained within, it is only the most popular theory. It is unknown if the Oxford Bell has ever been x-rayed or examined in another way, so scientists can figure out what is the exact makeup of the battery. The Bell itself played an important role in distinguishing between two different theories of electrical action. The theory of contact tension, which has since become obsolete and the theory of chemical action. I'm not sure what this battery proved, but it seems weird that if an energy source can last so long modern manufacturers don't use it.

The burden of being a Libra
I was born on October 8th in the Chinese year of the dog. Libra is the seventh astrological sign in the zodiac. My symbol is the scales and it is supposed to mean among other things I seek balance and justice. As a libra I am supposed to be sociable, rational and detached when dealing with stressful situations. Rome was supposedly founded when the moon was in libra and the ancient Romans held the sign in high regard. Libra is the only one of the zodiac signs represented by an inanimate object, all the others are animals or mythological symbols. So among all of the signs I should be the most level headed. I should be organized and self indulgent. I can definitely say I am both of those things. Clutter and chaos makes me uncomfortable and not able to think straight. If my surroundings are neat and organized, my mood is definitely enhanced. I will also admit I will indulge myself most anything. I believe we have one life to live and we should have any experience that we dream of. Whether it is seeing a Broadway show or a pair of shoes. I hate when I regret anything.

The Escape Fantasy
All of us have an escape fantasy. You know the one where you get in the car and drive away. You leave everything behind and start new, somewhere where no one knows your name. Mine involves driving down the highway until I find a quaint little town. I will become a waitress at a small diner and everyone in town will wonder who I am or where I came from. I will keep to myself though, renting a studio apartment and reading books in my solitude. All of my troubles would just disappear with my old identity.

A Very Simple Man
A Very Simple Man By: Shawna Bennett Jack could feel his lungs begin to burn and his calf muscles were already cramping. He had gone out last night and stayed out a little to late. He blamed the sexy blonde who had captured his attention. He was a young stockbroker and prided himself on appearances. He wore well-tailored suits and kept his physical appearance well-toned. He didn’t jog every morning for pleasure, but because it was a requirement of the image he wanted to maintain. The blonde had been a pleasant distraction last night, but he regretted it this morning.
