Allie most definantly did not think that this would be the way she was spending her last few days of freedom. A trip to the beach with her parents was not in the plans . She just knew she would be partying and hanging with friends up until the moment she got on the boat .So far her mom ,dad and Ms. Wilma were getting along. "Whos idea was this again?" Allie questioned in her mind. Allie takes a long drag on the joint . She slowly exhales .She belts out a solid cough as she fans the remaining smoke from her face . She wasn't even quite sure she was making the right choice for herself and this was confusing and just making it harder .

The Storm Shelter
Darlene sat on the dirty wood floor of that old house, hands pressed tightly together. It had been three days since she actually prayed . With food getting low and how cold the nights had been she wasn't even sure if any one was listening , so why bother. This morning was different , there was a level of desperation in her silent stance. It had been three weeks since " The storm of the Century", and the earth felt silent. She didn't know for sure because she wouldn't dare step foot out of the storm shelter. It was old and remote, but had kept her and Lauren safe these last few weeks, and if this was going to be anything like those end of days movies ,she just knew what ever was outside needed to stay there . "Nope no Zombies for me" she thought. She was just happy she could make it there in time. Well for what happy was worth at that point.

My Love Message
As I sat on the back porch I thought about how beautiful life was . I couldnt have been more than 8 or 9. I remember...I could see straight off the back porch for atleast 2 miles . Nothing but cotton fields lined the property . Between the porch and the cotton was a farm , dogs , fire ants, collard greens, field peas , peach trees, pecans and watermelon. Oh and of course a barn. Every thing I needed was there, It substanded my body, and my mind.
