A character I had the privilege of meeting was Capt. Charles S. Rutherford VC, MC, MM. The alphabet soup after his name is; Victoria Cross, Military Cross and Military Medal. Known as Charlie, he was the only Canadian to have earned all three medals during WW1.
I am not a fan of William Shakespeare’s writings. I have to admit; the guy added to our language through his use of the language. He’s credited with the first use of the word “gnarled” in 1604 in his play “Measure for Measure”.
The village’s four corners held a familiar feel. Maybe we’d travelled this way to visit the farm. Those childhood visits to the farm I thought were my parent’s friends. I learned my years later, they were family on dad’s side. My parents were never big on explaining family relationships.
