The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. This candle was bright. So bright that the nearby townsfolk in the town of Copper could see it from their homes. In those days the townsfolk dared not enter the forest for tales of the witch that lived there.

Randall's Crash
“There weren't always dragons in the Valley.” Randall put the book that he was reading down and sighed. His commute through the valley from one city to another really bummed him out sometimes. Usually reading fantasy books helped him out of his funk, but today it was a reminder that this valley would never have dragons in it. Randall reached his stop and got out of the train. Mounted on his bike, he was ready for the last stage of his long commute.

Beneath Pehr's Darkness
Peter had been on hundreds of dives in lake Baikal, but this dive was different. On this dive, he heard a voice. “Peter,” it said to him. “You must go back to Pehr lake. This lake’s secrets have been revealed but it is that lake which will change the world.” At first, Peter dismissed the voice as the rapture of the deep and prepared to ascend back into the light. But before he could leave the area, a massive white hand reached out of the depths to block his path up. Knowing what he was seeing had to be a product of his imagination, he looked down into the depths, only to see a massive white face looking back at him.

Miami Colors and the Drug Named
The colors were intense at this sunset. Connor could see the palm trees and the oranges and blues of the evening were so bright and dark at the same time. He felt his retinas lurch at the sky and get lost in the greens of the palms.

April's Marigold
It was an evening at the end of August. April the witch was picking marigolds for her spells in preparation for autumn, the most important season for her. The waning golden evening light was just like the end of summer going into autumn. April, despite her name, was a witch of autumn and the spells she cast not only had everything to do with the season but also were the most potent during autumn.
