Are these chocolate chip cookies?
No, no they are not just chocolate chip cookies, though I get asked that a lot. They're molasses chocolate chip cookies, known in my family as Lassie Cookies, and they have been present on the table at every family get-together since as long as I can remember.

Winter's Wolf - Conjurer’s Counsel & Critique (Book Reviews of Indie Authors)
Winter’s Wolf, by Tara Lain "Winter Thane was raised on the two cardinal rules of werewolf existence: don’t reveal yourself to humans under penalty of death, and there’s no such thing as a gay werewolf. It’s no surprise when his father drags him from his wild life in remote Canada back to Connecticut to meet his old pack in hopes it will persuade Winter to abandon hi love of sex with human males. Of course, Dad’s hopes are dashed when they come face-to-face with the gay werewolves in the Harker pack.

The Record of Lives
He stood immobile in the middle of the busy city sidewalk. People walked past him, seeming to narrowly avoid colliding with him, but failing to take any notice of his presence. It was a small bubble of quiet in a city of noise, for while the sounds reached him physically, he paid no mind to them. They were trivialities to his kind, just things that existed but had no consequences for him. So he continued to stand their amidst the cacophony, unaware of anything except the one thing he was here for.

A Childish Medium to Explore an Adult's World
I’m a sucker for a good character. Doesn’t matter the genre, the medium, or the story, anything from cartoons and kid’s shows, to comedies and romances, to Oscar winning movies and epic HBO fantasies, if it’s got the skill to explore complex characters with deep backgrounds and believable motives, then I’m intrigued. However, I have found one genre in particular to not be shy about toeing lines, pushing boundaries and exploring difficult and sensitive topics in unique and often heart-wrenching ways: Anime.

The Smallest Good Deed
There's a thousand different ways to do something good for others. And millions of people do them every day. There're the obvious ones: giving money, donating food, offering assistance to friends or family in need, volunteering for a good cause and so many more. When I'm able, I do these things, but right now, times have been hard, like they are for so many people. I'm financially strapped and working two jobs, while also job hunting because one of them is about to be terminated. I'm exhausted, anxious and stressed. I don't have much left to give, monetarily, physically or emotionally.
