Dragon Flight: Wings of Terror
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. They were just suddenly there one day, with flames and thunder. I can still remember it. The smoke, the screams, the ashes. The vile smell of sulphur and, if you paid attention, even the fear had a smell beneath the burning.

Asmara's Warrior
His name was Avak when I first met him. We were only children at the time, but I knew that one day we would marry, because he said so. Of course, at that time I firmly told him that he would have to get me to love him first. “Challenge accepted” was all he said. I could only laugh at how certain he was, but I’ll admit, I secretly wanted him to be right about it.

It’s Hard to Say Good-bye
She stared at the colorful bird blankly, its colors looking far more cheerful than she felt. Her eyes rested on the blue feathers, perhaps that color was closest to how she felt though it was still too bright a blue. She let her mind wonder over the other colors, the red and green and found that they actually also matched her feelings. Red for anger, green for jealousy, and blue for sadness and it fit far too well for her liking and she instantly wanted to go back to it being too bright.

Under the Pear Tree
The land had really changed since she was a little girl. The only thing remaining of the great orchard, that once stood on this land, was the great old pear tree that still bore fruit where all the other trees had died off. That was her pear tree or at least she’d come to think of it that way over the years. If that tree could talk it would have so many stories and so many precious memories to share.
